Sorry to have missed DR Vixmom earlier, but I was very glad to hear her good news!

DR Ginny, any news on John's situation?

We were there briefly yesterday afternoon, but missed seeing his wife or daughter.  Still non-responsive and still on the ventilator.  Thanks for asking.

It is so hard to think of a question for ASK BK DAY.

So many great ones have been ask and answered.

So perhaps I will ask an oldie again

DID STEPHEN SONDHEIM LET YOU KNOW WHAT HE THOUGHT OF WRITER'S BLOCK?

Although Steve has gotten each and every one of my books, and he's thanked me for them, his mantra is that he doesn't read fiction.  So, if he's read it, I haven't heard about it.

I'm up and it is very gray and overcast out - wonder if that will last or if it will be another scorcher today.  I've already called all the workers next door Mitzi, and I mean in the nicest possible way, as you can imagine.

Good morning!

A gray day with showers and storms expected all day and highs in the mid-80s. Sounds very typical for this time of the summer.

Back from the doctor where the news was encouraging: time, some very different exercise strategies, new drugs, and patience. I have all of these but the last, but I must find some. When you've had near-perfect health for almost 60 years, any little problem seems gigantic.

At any rate, thanks for all the good wishes. Glad this part of the problem (diagnosis and treatment) is over. Now, let's see where it gets me.

Today I'll be working on one of the Fox Blu-rays that came in late yesterday: DRAGONBALL: EVOLUTION.

Doesn't sound much like CITIZEN KANE, but maybe I'll be surprised. :)

Continued good news, DR MATTH.

I purchased DR CP's lamented DRAGONHEART on VHS at the Goodwill Monday for ninety nine cents.  And they put the price sticker over HIS NAME!  I did see the "C" though.  :D

The biggest problem with a name like Mitzi is that very few people fit the name.

CITIZEN KANE

Many people don't know that in the first draft of the screenplay, Welles used "Mitzi" as the first and last word.  It was only later that it was changed to "Rosebud."

Still gray out.  I'm still deciding whether I care to jog today - if I do, it will be the two-mile version.

I forgot to mention that the two most repeated lines of dialogue in the history of any medium recur in every episode of Lost and are spoken by whatever actor speaks them in exactly the same expression:  "What?" (after some unexpected line of dialog from someone), and "Excuse me?" (after some unexpected line of dialog from someone).  I usually speak it with the character.  I wonder if the producers insist on the inclusion of these two lines in every script?  And to that sort of writing I can only say one word: Mitzi.

One of my favorite Sondheim songs: The Story of Mitzi and Mitzi.

Mitzi was ritzy but but oh what a name
Mitzi was ditsy and really the same
Mitzi wants to be ritzy
Mitzi wants to be ditsy
Mitzi wants to be Mitzi
And Mitzi Mitzi

Ok, morning work is now complete (uploading work project from yesterday which I just didn't feel like bothering with last night).

Now, I'm heading downstairs to check the mail, fix some lunch (my appetite seems to be slowly returning), and then get down to some work-related business this afternoon.

Well that is Don Quixote, and it is a nice kitchen funnel - this is of course the repaired lance with the tree branch on top.....   The funnel is now painted a lovely metallic gray so that it looks less like either of those items you mentioned....a little less.

My Ask BK question:

How are you finding out what's available in the MGM vaults?  Do they have a master list they've provided you, or are you just going by what you already know is in there?  Or a combination?
