I'm up, and DirecTV is here.  Of course, they want to do the easiest thing, which would just be using all the cables (component) that are already plugged into the current TIVO unit.  I asked them about an HDMI cable and they asked if the receiver had an input and I said yes.  I do need an HDMI cable right?  Isn't that the best way?

And for the second time in a week, I've received an e-mail from paypal saying some buyer's bank had done a return.  The buyer has written me and told me he'd done something wrong, and I've asked him to call paypal directly and take care of it.  I find this completely irritating - I'm the victim not the cause and paypal demand you respond and send information and I don't have the time or patience to deal with it.  I'm on the phone, on hold for at least ten minutes, trying to find how I even send them a response, since there's no button to click to do so.

Bruce -- ABSOLUTLEY YES, you need an HDMI hookup.  This takes care of both HighDef video AND audio.

Les Paul, guitarist master sans equal, has died at age 94.

I have many recordings of his work with Mary Ford.

A great musician.

I wish DR MattH were online right now.

The HDMI gives you the OPTIMAL high def audio and video.  You can get HD signals with component cables but you will need audio cables, too.

I have both...and I know there's a reason...

I spoke to my guy who installed my stuff - he said HDMI is the way, but he said if I'm worried about them doing it, to just have them do what he did, and then he'll come and do the HDMI stuff in a day or two - I may go that route.

TOD"  My grandmother used to sing, "Three Little Fishes" to us when I was little.  My great aunt would sing MacNamarra's Band and do a little jig for us.
Growing up at the same time as many of you, I was bombarded with "Witch Doctor" "Me-O and Cleo"  "Itsy Witsy Teeny Weeny Polka Dot Bikini."

"Spiders and Snakes" still gives me a headache; it was popular on the jukebox at a pizza place where I worked as a teenager, and I got tired of hearing it 30 times a day.

In later years, I liked the disco version of the "I Love Lucy theme, "Disco Lucy."   Since they were doing a disco version of everything at the time, we joked that they could one of "Ave Maria" and call it "Disco Mary."

I still like, "If I Knew You Were Coming I'd Have Baked a Cake"

"Telephone Man" from the late 70's was cute too.

I actually rode my bike for the first time in about 3 weeks. Between my lower back and being sick i just did not have the energy.

The temps this week are very hot and sunny and humid. But the ride was great!

My right lower back is still not healed. But it's fine most of the time (except when i try to lift something). So i just put the bike pack in my basket instead of resting on my back. And my back did not hurt at all during the ride!
