I think the genetic DNA my kid got stuck with was lurking in the dark for several generations waiting for a suitable host.   That is the river of denial I will live with.  If that makes any sense.  End of rant.

Dear MattH, I'm glad you are doing a little better.

Thanks. I have been taking it very easy today, but the tightness and stiffness is preferable to pain.

BK,

I don't know what you've been a chump about, but I'd venture to say that every one of us here has been a chump at one time or another. I have a couple of times.

I now have one more episode of NCIS to watch, the season finale. I went ahead and watched the bonus features on the last disc before I watched the episodes, so that last show is all I have left to do.

While I ate lunch, I watched Thursday night's rerun of THE MENTALIST. This was the one about the art theft/forgery. Not one of the best episodes of the season, but Patrick gets to show off a lot in this episode.

For some reason, the DVR did not record MONK and PSYCH last night, so I had to find them again later in the week on reshowings, but will get to see them before new episodes turn up next Friday.

I'm back, and overtired, and feeling a little blue, when I'd much rather be feeling a little orange.  I'm watching a DVD of a film that's one half of our upcoming release - I'd never seen it before and didn't want to write the liner notes without having done so.  It's not on DVD here in the US, but was, oddly, in Spain.  It's not a very good movie, despite its terrific cast, good director, and great composer.

I am sure DR Michael Barnum is devastated, just devastated over this new report:

NEW DELHI – Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was detained for two hours for questioning at a U.S. airport before being released by immigration authorities, a news agency report said Saturday.
Khan, one of the Indian film industry's biggest stars, said he was detained because his name came up on a computer alert list at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, Press Trust of India news agency said.
"I told them I am a movie star," Khan was quoted as saying.
The reported detention made top news on TV stations in India.
Khan said he was able to message a lawmaker in India who asked the Indian embassy in Washington to seek his release. Khan was let go after embassy officials intervened, the agency said.
Jen Friedberg, a spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the airport, said the agency did not request that Khan be detained.

I've been on the phone with Apple Support and then chatting with a Mobile Me expert - normally, my engineer puts all the audio track files on iDisk, and I drag them from there to iTunes and it always works perfectly.  Last night, I got error messages, but today I managed to get four track in before getting the error messages.  We did a permissions repair and tried all sorts of other things, including doing it from the laptop, where I also got the same error messages.  So, ultimately, the guy felt it was a network problem - not necessarily a Time Warner problem but my network on my wireless router.  Why this would happen all of a sudden is anyone's guess.  So, he had me unplug the router and the cable modem and then plug them in.  I've restarted the laptop and will now try it again.  If it's working, then I'll restart this computer and see if it's working here.

Good Evening!

Well... Since I happened to be walking by Central Park... And by The Delacorte... And since the stand-by line isn't too long... I may be seeing "The Bacchae" tonight. We shall see...

No doubt the authority who detained Shah Ruk Khan was an overzealous fan, or under the influence of a very imaginative PR man.

bk - It's usually best to drag any files from iDisk to your Desktop first and then into whatever program you will be using. There's less chance of corrupting the file that way - otherwise, the program will be reading and playing the file at the same time the transfer is going on. Best to treat it as a straight file transfer first.

Actually, I think DR MBarnum may be jealous of the fact that I will be attending the India Day Festival here in NYC. In fact, a mother of an actress I know will be performing tomorrow too. I'm really looking forward to seeing her perform.

He would be more interested if it was the father of an actress.
