HERCULES (the DIsney cartoon) was on The Family Channel-HD this afternoon and I recorded it since the only DVD I have of the film is a nonanamorphic letterbox version. It looked simply splendid. Beautiful animation, and the tunes were a tonic.

Actually, I think DR MBarnum may be jealous of the fact that I will be attending the India Day Festival here in NYC. In fact, a mother of an actress I know will be performing tomorrow too. I'm really looking forward to seeing her perform.

Actually, I will be attending India Festival 2009 in downtown Portland tomorrow, with little Benny and Taylor in tow.

I was going to take the rest of the night off, too, but then I started thinking about that next Criterion/Eclipse box set coming up, and there are five movies in it, each about 90 minutes. So, I figured I'd get one out of the way tonight, and then two a day for the next two days to finish it up.

These are all low budget Japanese noir films (think Monogram-level films from Japan). The one I watched tonight was called I AM WAITING from 1957. Just OK noir drama about a man betrayed by his brother (so he thinks) until he pieces together what actually happened.

Well, I bought myself a fairly small flat-screen HD TV.  They also sold me a HDMI(?) cable.  Unfortunately I am sitting her watching my TV in low-def because me cable box does not have an HDMI input.  So, I plugged the regular cable into the new TV and am now watching a beautiful picture and wonderful sound on my new TV, but no HD.

Does your cable box have red-green-blue jacks? That can get you HD, too.

Yes, but  I don't have a componet cable.  And since I have already taken my Vicodin, I can't go to the store and buy one tonight.

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers tonight.

Well, I feel better now.  Since the TV came with a built-in DVD player, I stuck in a HARRY POTTER movie.  Now I have HD.

I spent two bloody hours working on the finale of act one for the long musical, because the lyricist, despite my being very clear about what was to go where, got it wrong every step of the way.  I mean, I spent thirty minutes on the phone saying it, while she typed on her computer.  That she could not get it right was quite astonishing, since I was very clear each step of the way.  I then had to undo everything and talk her through it again and I made the changes on the Word doc and now it's finally the way I want it and it's been sent to all the other collaborators.

I finished watching the DVD of one half of the upcoming Kritzerland release - really bad and it really shouldn't have been.
