And now for something completely different, I am about to go to my book group's annual potluck dinner and movie night.  We've read and are watching Revolutionary Road.  That should cheer me up.  Well, at least being with my girlfriends will...

The movie sure won't...

I actually watched it a few weeks ago.

Tonight I watched THE READER, which is equally somber! (but good. although i thought the sex scenes were too graphic for my taste).

DR Jane - what about Elizabeth Perkins for you?

Hmm, I know who she is but am not familiar with her.  I love she is much younger than I am ;)  People often say I look like Courtney Cox.  I don't see it.

I’ve been pondering who I would want to play me and I can’t come up with a name.    Any suggestions?

Keith-A younger Lee Majors. I’ve always thought that.
My Mother-I can’t get beyond Susan Hayward who was only 2 years older than my mother.
My brother- Warren Beatty

It is hard to do my children too.

Your brother - Warrren Beatty?  Can I meet your brother?

LOL. :)

:) You are getting out!

What did you think of the book?  I haven't read it, or seen the movie.  It doesn't really appeal to me.

I haven't read the book, but did see the movie. I don't know if you'd like it. It was okay.

If you really like kate and/or leo.

It was a well done movie, but sort of slow. I forget when it was set (the 50s or something). It's basically just watching them have a troubled marriage. But the acting is very good. Just not my favorite kind of movie.

I usually don't enjoy stories with troubled marriages that go nowhere, and I get the feeling that is where this story goes.

They aren't totally unhappy. At times they are very happy. But it's not a very cheery story.

DR Jane - what about Elizabeth Perkins for you?

I was thinking Meg Ryan before she tinkered with her looks.

Well, I finished the last episode of SONS OF ANARCHY. They ended the season at a great stopping point which will be a great jumping off point for the new season that begins in a few weeks. The biker club will definitely be undergoing some changes this season!

I also watched the six featurettes that were the bonus features on disc three. Eveything from deleted scenes and a gag reel to features on the tattoo artists who work on the show and the different custom motorcycles used for each of the stars. All very interesting.

I ended up actually enjoying the show. I doubt I'll tune in when the new season starts, but I'll look forward to reviewing the next season box set when it comes out in a year.

I hope everyone who's a fan remembered tonight was the return of PROJECT RUNWAY. I recorded the ALl-Stars show as well as the first episode of the new season. I'll watch it tomorrow while I eat lunch.

Tonight I finally had time to catch up with last Friday's PSYCH and MONK.

PSYCH had a merely OK episode with Sean investigating Christine Baranski and her family. The mystery was OK, but I wanted Seasn to do more "psych" stuff.

MONK wasn't all that good either. "Mr. Eko" from LOST was the guest star of a dull little mystery that really didn't engage me. I found my attention drifting and I even nodded off at one point.

They yell a lot.  I didn't like the story.  Too depressing

Good Evening!

If any DR happens to be wandering through SoHo, and is looking for some place to grab a bite to eat, I highly recommend, Despaña.  Besides selling a full array of Spanish "groceries", they also have a counter in the back where you buy various tapas, bocadillos and pinxtos.

I had actually planned to have lunch elsewhere, but as I walked by the storefront I noticed an Iberian "black ham" in the window, so... I was very glad that my curiosity got the best of me.

*As I left, I spoke to some of the counter staff up front - all from Spain - their staff "rotates" between Spain and the US.  I asked them how long they had been open, and they said "Three and half... Years."  YEARS?!?!?!  That really caught me by surprise.  Whenever I'm in SoHo, I usually walk in that area, and I was quite surprised that I had not noticed them before.  As I was enjoying my lunch - a Catalan bocadillo (sandwich) - I was admiring just how well kept, organized and clean the place was - it seemed liked it had just opened.  But, sure enough, they opened back in 2006.

In any case... *** (out of 4).

;D

DR Jose, very nice of the restaurant last night.  Maybe they think you are a restaurant critic ;)

OMG that is the funniest thing i've read today. Maybe they do!

DR Jennifer - And just why would you find that funny?
