We used to have a Fudruckers fairly locally when Vixdad and I were were newly married -  They had a burtcher section there where you could buy raw burgers to take home -  we used to buy a box them every so often - they were absolutely delicious

Vixdad once nearly burned the house down grilling some too near the vinyl sideing

Oh, man.  I was perfectly happy, watching a motion picture on DVD.  I took a break and checked my e-mail, and there was one from paypal stating they'd put a hold on a transaction's funds pending my response - nothing to do with me or my account.  This is the fourth time they've done this in a month - they've credited all the others into the account, but I'm so tired of it, that I spent twenty-five minutes on hold to get to someone from the resolution center, and I just lit into him like nobody's business and I told him that if that money wasn't in my account in ten seconds there was going to be major trouble, because I now consider this harassment.   For you see, this time they chose to flag a payment from a dear reader who has ordered every CD we've ever put out.  First the guy asked me for a tracking number - I started getting very agitated and I said a) we don't do tracking numbers, b) it's a pre-order, and c) it's none of his business.  I told him that this customer has purchased stuff all the time and to merely check his account or ours.  I told this guy that I felt that eBay has put some kind of flag on my account for no reason (I have never in all my paypal years had a problem that's been my fault) - he said he was sorry it seemed like that, but assured me it wasn't.  He closed the case and put the money in my account, and I told him strongly that if this happened again EVER it was going to be very problematic for paypal.  It's fine to say it's not my fault or a problem with my account, except that they put a hold on MY funds and it shows up as a problem.  He heard me well, I think.

Good evening everyone.

I'm now 2 days behind in reading posts.

The smoke and heat in LA is too much.   At work this morning, you couldn't see the mountains at all through all the smoke.  The air was hard to breathe.

I work at the bottom of the foothills, the fire is on the other side, if the wind blows SE the smoke blows towards us,  I feel bad for the mail persons who have to walk around in it all day.

I live far enough away to just be too hot to open the door or windows.

I have not heard how this fire started, they know where, but have not said why.
