Well, DR Jane, you're ahead of me.  I lived in Michigan for 20+ years and never went to the UP.

We rented an RV so we could take Echo.  Craig also went with us, the good sport that he is never complained about the rain & the wet dog.  He had his music which kept him happy.  Keith & I did more complaining about the wet dog.  There were fun days on the trip & the 4 of us had a nice boat ride on the lake.

DR elmore I'm amazed it has already been a year.  On the upside of the hospital visit, it encouraged you to change your eating habits very quickly.

DS Rob just called to tell us that he arrived safely at Mary Linda's at 1:30 this morning and the two of them are now "on the road again" to meet her family in the Upper Peninsula.

Glad to read he made it safely.  We went to the UP once, it was foggy most of the time & we could hardly see the painted rocks, which I'm told are beautiful.

You're right!  You can hardly see a thing!

Back from a three-mile jog - it felt really good, but the air, while better today, is still not optimal.

DR JRand59, your story reminds me of an article or interview I was reading with some cast member of some production of The Full Monty.  During the final number, the guys realized that the lighting cue had gotten off by one, and they realized that the final moment of the show was not going to be covered by the special lighting effect.  I can't remember what they did - I think they just stuck it out, and the audience got an extra bonus that night.

To All HAINSIES and KIMLETS-

I and My Wife will be leaving Tonight for a Two Week Vacation To Eastern Europe. We are going on a Blue Danube River Cruse(Which I now hear is Brown)

We spend two days in Budapest(Hungary) and then go on The AMA Waterways ship AMALYRA and see the following cities

Bratislavia-Slovakia
Vienna-Austria
Durnstein-Austria
Melk-Austria
Linz(Salzburg)-Austria
Passau-Germany
Regensburg-Germany
Nurenberg-Germany

and 3 Days in Prague-Czech Republic

I will take loads of pictures and will report(Not as Well as Jose and Monkey) the Gastronomic Delights that we encounter and Eat

We will be back on September 17th

For Obvious reasons there will be No Song of the Day during our Vacation.
But I will be back shiny and refreshed in Two Weeks .

Meanwhile-The Song of Two Weeks is(of course) THE BLUE DANUBE WALTZ

Arnold, have a wonderful vacation.  It sounds fantastic!  Bon Voyage.

I am home today.  I woke up feeling like crap, so I went back to bed.  My body has been trying to get sick all week.

I didn't choose that phrasing intentionally, but I guess it was apt.

Thanks to all for the vibes for Opening Night.  We had a very enthusiastic audience.  Some line bobbles here and there - myself included - but all in all it went very well.

The audience was laughing ALL night as though the play was brand new - it is VERY funny.

Of course one of the WEE players - who plays Officer Brophy forgot to bring out his blackjack, so he had nothing to hit me with when I was strangling Officer Klein......I guess I just collapsed from the effort.

He couldn't just bitch-slap you?? ;)

I've been doing some organizing, and I just found something I've been looking for for almost eight months.  When I put out the Herrmann Christmas Carol, I could not find the sheet music folio, which I'd bought on eBay and which I knew I had.  It used to reside on the piano, but wasn't there, and certainly wasn't in the bench.  When the garage got redone, I looked through every box, to no avail.  It was driving me crazy.  And I never did find it, which was most annoying, since it's signed by Mr. Herrmann and his then-wife, Lucille Fletcher.  Well, I was just moving some stuff around in the book room and there it was in one of the shelves - it's very thin and hard to see, and why I would have put it in with books is anyone's guess - I do have some sheet music books in the book room (full scores, like Li'l Abner, Wildcat, etc.) but it wasn't with those, it was next to some oversize film book.  But, now I have it and shall not lose it again.
