Tick tick tick... I'll be leaving here next Wednesday morning (likely get to Ashland before beddie bye) and heading to LA for the next 7 or 8 months. Ah, me... I'm feeling nostalgic already... hate to leave. I've had such a lovely summer...

Hi Penny.  Did you receive/read the email about our next class lunch gathering?  There is some sad news included.

The last little stand-oofish baby raccoon (from a litter of two, by a new mother who was just a wee baby last year) ate from my hand last night... oh, their little baby hands are so soft on my palm!! Sweetest feeling in the world - those little hands...

Beddie-bye is around snore-thirty... I'm guessing I'll leave the cabin around 10... it's about 9-1/2 hours to your house... so 7:30-8:00 is ETA.

Today I received the results of the medical scans I had a couple of weeks ago:  low risk for osteoporosis, no carotid artery disease, no peripheral arterial disease, and no abdominal aortic aneruysm.  It was the last one that concerned me the most, as my father had an AAA (detected and repaired) in his late 50s.

:D

Great news, Ginny!!

Leaving work to go pick up DC Callie!!! She gets to come home tonight. I am very happy about that.

Wonderful news!!!

Was the procedure something new or just the standard enema?

I like your new avatar, very sweet.

Lets just say it was an invasive procedure and leave it at that.  She's not a happy camper at all. I think she was probably so upset they decided to send her home.   She's calmed down - other than a big hiss at Boo. I moved a litter box into the guest room - where she goes when she doesn't feel good, covered up the things she could make a mess of and shut the door.  I'll check on her later, but she really needs a little peace and quiet for awhile

Jane, I actually feel better having her here.  She's used to a very quiet environment and it was very noisy and chaotic at the vet.  I've been through this part before.  She's home. She'll be ok.

The Liz CD took so long because she was paying for half or more of it, and the label had to come up with the rest - I know they did part of it at one point and the rest later.  Alex Rybeck told me that the roughs sounded good, and with Liz I'm sure it will be a nice CD.

The soundtrack to "Bank Shot" just arrived at my work!  The cover art (now that's a dying...if not already dead...art) seems very similar to "The Night They Raided Minsky's." ;)

But they're both great covers! :D

I'm finally back.  The dentist was sheer torture.  The shot was actually the least of it today - that didn't hurt nearly as much as the last time.  But the drilling down of the tooth that's getting the crown was excruciating.  It was like he kept hitting a nerve - he said he wasn't, but it sure felt like it - and it took longer than the other tooth.  At some point, he shot some more Novocain directly where he was working, and that really helped.  I have the temporary crown in now, but that whole side of my mouth is really sore, like someone had punched me really hard there.  And the tooth itself is sore on top of that, and I'm still a little numb on top of that, and I'm getting a headache on top of that, so I don't know that I'll be going to see that show tonight.

Interesting.  Thanks for the info, BK.

LOL, now Boo on the other hand, is totally p o'd. First she's left alone all day, then Callie comes home and hisses at her, then Callie is behind closed doors.  She just came into the kitchen and told me off in cat talk and walked out, lol

DR  Jane I used to get allergy shots when i was a kid. But then i forget why we stopped (my sister used to get them too).

I don't recall being allergic to perfume when i was a kid. I do recall when i was in my 20s that i would not be able to walk through the front of the department stores (they were so full of perfumes).

I don't really find my allergy that bad. But i'm not exposed to perfume that much. Smoke also bothers me just as much. But i'm not exposed to that very much anymore. Since they stopped allowing people to smoke in restaurants and shopping malls i almost never have to inhale it.
