I ended my evening by speeding through the two soaps I'm keeping up with: OLTL and ATWT. On the former, nothing at all of interest. On the latter, the boys weren't on, but much to do with the Lily/Holden/Damien triangle.

Then...

I decided to go ahead and take the M60 bus back to Manhattan from LGA.  I got on the bus.  I got a seat on the bus.  And then I started to feel something wet... Someone had spilled a beer... On the seat... Ugh! Well, at that point, the bus was full.  Thankfully, I had some newspapers on me, so I just placed those down on the seat and sat back down. Welcome back to NYC, Jose! ::)

They're already in the dryer as I type this post.

I looked this afternoon and I couldn't find that it was shown on the channel at all.

Oh...

And when I got back to my apartment, one of the new roommates informed that he's sick.  And that the other new roommate is sick too.  They both started back at school (college) last week, and, by last Friday, about 100 people were already in disposed.  H1N1 - ??? So...

Thankfully, we each have our own rooms here, but I may crash at a friend's place tomorrow night - and the night after - if they're still sniffling, sneezing and coughing.

As for Leno...

I've never thought that Jay Leno was that funny.  Well, he's funny, but I actually prefer a bit more edge to my comedy.  Leno's "Big Tent" entertainment just doesn't hold my attention for more than five minutes. -Thus, I usually watch Letterman.

I don't know how it happened, but I just had to spend close to two hours packaging up orders - I thought I was done, that there were only two or three - but I just lugged about fifteen packages out of here and took them to the post office - not how I wanted to spend my evening, but I'm glad I got it done because this week is just too too busy.  I also have a splitting headache thanks to the pain in my mouth.

No, SoapNet only has THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS from CBS, I believe.

You know what I could use after a day at the dentist like today?  I could use some fershluganah TLC that's what I could use - and yet, I get none.  NONE.  Not even a nice telephonic call.  Nothing.  Nada.  Squat.  If I had some TLC perhaps I wouldn't have a headache.  I simply await karma doing what it inevitably does.

TOD

I know that this has been discussed before

Thematic
Alice In Wonderland. (I believe it was in the planning stages for IT happened)

And I thought it would be a good idea , but the feedback from before was not positive

Songs from musicals or plays from Charles Dickens, There's lots of material.

Not positive? Or not plentiful?  Or both?

???

-I don't seem to recall you suggesting that before.  -And I remember almost everything. ;)

*I think it's a good idea.

Well, when the workers wake you up tomorrow morning, you could always ask them for some TLC. Especially since they talk right outside your bedroom window.

bk - I found that "Mad Men" works better for me one episode at a time, a day. There's just too much for me to process if I watch a series of episodes back to back.  The series needs the breathing room.

TOD: How about David Engel? Or Cason Murphy? Or Jason Bratton?

Jason & Cason has a nice ring to it...

With Jose as music director! ;D

Actually, I'd prefer to be the Music Supervisor.  Pays better.

As for today's auditions, well...

It was a pretty good batch of actors and actresses.  However... Well... Let me put it this way...

A young man walked up to me at the briefing and asked if it would be OK if he gave me some handwritten music.  He was concerned that I wouldn't be able to read it.  He had just picked a new song a few days ago (Red Flag #1), and transposed and written it out himself (Red Flag #2).  I asked him if he had given it to someone else to read, and he said, "No, since I just did it." (Red Flag #3)

-Well, just let me look at it now and I'll tell if I can read it.  And he did.  And it was readable.  So...

A few hours later when it came time for his audition, he put the music in front of me on the piano.  He asked for the first pitch, and then we would start together. Well...

I hit his first pitch. He started singing on that pitch. I started playing the accompaniment.  Hmmm, something sounds really interesting. Am I missing an accidental? Is this some sort of jazzed up arrangement? After what seemed like the longest 30 seconds in the world, he finished singing, I finished playing, and he started his monologue.  And I was trying to stifle a giggle and some rolling eyes.  Then after closer inspection, I realized what had happened...

The original key of the song was C-Major.  He wanted to sing it in a lower key, the key of A-Major.  A-Major has three sharps (#s) - F#, C# and G#.  When he wrote out his "transposition", he put the new key signature, but did not bother to lower the actual notes by the required minor third.  In essence, all he really did was slap a new key on the existing music.  So...

He sang in his key.  I played in my key.  And never the twain did meet.

*I did get his audition number, and I will be contacting the office to get his email address.  I almost went up to him at the dance call, but...

He should know that readable does not mean correct.  -And that he really should have someone else play through his music before he brings it into an audition.  (Like, DUH!)

Do tell!  I've still got three hours to wait.

George - this is must see TV!

Leno pulls a Barbara Walters and makes Kayne West cry - the two worst TV minutes, ever

Leno does a "Jay and Kevin In Love" skit that comes off homophobic.

This show is even more embarassing than the MTV awards with Kayne West.
