After I put up NCIS, I took down from the to-watch shelf a TV box set that's been sitting there for several years: THE CASE-BOOK OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, a set of Jeremy Brett/Edward Hardwicke Holmes-Watson adventures.

I began with THE DISPPEARANCE OF LADY FRANCES CARFAX. Not a great mystery, but wow was I impressed with the quality of the show on DVD upconverted to 1080p. The early Holmes DVDs looked washed out and grainy as I recall, but this first one in this set at least was beautifully sharp, very colorful, and looked almost new. I'm looking forward to slowly making my way through this box set.

When I got in from lunch, I watched today's installment of AS THE WORLD TURNS. The boys were on with Noah's "stalker" around, so that looks like it will be a fun triangle.

Then I rewatched the opening of the Emmys (a couple of times) and skimmed through to hear some other excellent acceptance speeches including those of Cherry Jones and Michael Emerson.

I'll delete it later tonight. I might rewatch that opening one more time. Looked glorious in high definition.

DR Dan (the Man) - I did end up making a stop at the Comcast Center Saturday morning to watch "the wall".  WOW!!!!  I had originally only planned to stay for about five minutes... then about 25 minutes later... Again, WOW!!!

Yep--it's pretty mesmerizing, isn't it?

I really have not decided what I'll watch tonight for fun. I'll join HEROES at around 8:35 or so which should take me up to 10 p.m. by the time I catch up with the "live" broadcast. I'll save CASTLE to watch tomorrow while I cook and eat lunch.

I have last night's MAD MEN to watch at some point but I'll likely save the SHERLOCK HOLMES hourlong shows to watch one a day as I did with CASTLE.

PT this morning went very well. I got a new set of stretch exercises to add to my growing litany, and I am SO encouraged to be feeling about 90% of what I was at my best. I can only hope that my improving health continues. I also hope to be able to pick back up some of my weight training that had to go by the wayside once this malady occurred. That would truly make me happy.

Then I should get mine tomorrow. :)

Back from a wonderful lunch, although I must say it was the company that was wonderful rather than the food.  It was one of these "nouveau" Mexican jernts and the food is exactly what you'd expect from a "nouveau" Mexican jernt - weird sauce, weird cheese in the cheese enchiladas, weird beans, weird rice, and the worst guacamole ever.  I had two cheese enchiladas that were about the size of one cheese enchilada at Casa Vega.  I ate it all, but it was blah.  But I did make the deal for the fun project I've been alluding to and it's definitely a good deal.

DR Elmore - I'm so glad you found your check.  What I found in my email just now is a discount offer for tickets to The Royal Family and I'm about to order ours for the Sunday matinee!

I think I will need credit card info soon for your house seats. Right now I'm trying to work out the invoicing.

I just found out via Facebook that one of my college classmates died a few days ago of a heart attack.  He was only 42.  So, coupled with the shock of hearing about his death, I'm sort of confused(?) by the forming of a group on Facebook to honor his life and memory.  -Although, this is the second "death group" I've been asked to join in the past few months.

Very sad DR Jose, way too young.  My condolences on your classmates.

When I was a teen, I would theater hop (long before cineplexes) - I'd start at ten in the morning on one end of Hollywood Blvd. and work my way down and see four or five films in one day and evening.  I used to love doing that.

The most movies that I've seen (in theaters) in one day is three...I can't remember what they were, but it was with my niece.  She used to go to movies all the time.  My two aunts (my dad's sisters) told me that they've gone to four movies in one day.  They go to movies together all the time.

I think that the most movies (not TV show episodes) that I've watched at home was five.  It's been quite a while since I've seen more than two in one day, either in the theaters or even at home.

Has anyone ever tried to watch all three extended versions of the Lord of the Rings trilogy in one day?

I saw the original Broadway production of Angels in America, Parts 1 & 2 in the same day.  I had trouble focusing by the end.
