Geez, DR Jose, you don't find "my hovercraft is full of eels" to be a useful Hebrew phrase??

Glad to hear that a show did not drop on DR Ben.

...the butch character's line about "accepting an honorary degree" - who whould give her an honorary degree and in what field? - seemed completely out of character...

The line was quite in character; Sue is always bragging about her grand accomplishments, real and imaginary - we suspect usually the later. She is a cartoon - the Grand Antagonist; we should resent every breath she draws.

You're way too generous with this show.

Tonight is a huge night for TV with returning favorites like GREY'S ANATOMY (two hours tonight), THE MENTALIST, and CSI.

We have the premiere of the intriguing FLASH FORWARD on ABC.

Shows that have already had their season premieres also show up with new episodes tonight: BONES, FRINGE, THE OFFICE, PROJECT RUNWAY, SUPERNATURAL, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, COMMUNITY, and PARKS & RECREATION.

And before all those grand events, I will while away the hours between 1 and 6 watching round one of the Fedex Cup PGA Tour finals.

Well, I choose to overlook the warts so I can enjoy the gems: Sue's "Yes We Cane" editorial, the football game and Curt's discussion with his Father.

Good morning, all! I have two short pieces to score for FINIAN'S RAINBOW, and I have a day home to do them.  Beyond that, the apartment is looking more and more tidy, although I need a day to do nothing but organize my 2009 receipts; I'm finding too many taxi slips everywhere but where they should be.

As to last night's GLEE, I don't like it much. I really dislike almost all of the characters: the wife and girlfriend are lying bitches, the butch character's line about "accepting an honorary degree" - who whould give her an honorary degree and in what field? - seemed completely out of character, our other leading lady is an egocentric virago who I wish would shut up for a while, and the men seem to be passive whimps allowing these unpleasant women to walk over them. My favorite character last night was the father because he had a few surprises in his onscreen time.

I recorded last night's GLEE and will watch it sometime this weekend.  But if it doesn't improve over the last two episodes, I'll be dropping it.  I just think that the writing has been awful.  The musical numbers are overproduced vocally and unimaginatively staged/filmed (and have also broken into hokey fantasy sequences.)  At this point, the only thing I really like about the show is Jane Lynch, who I've enjoyed since her appearances on TWO AND A HALF MEN a few years ago.  Her scenes so far have been delicious.

I'm not at all surprised that GLEE is not catching on with everyone. It is soapy and over-the-top and won't be for everyone's taste. I'm enjoying it very much.

I'll be heading down now to start on my stretching exercises - part two. Then, I'll watch another Brett/Homes story before heading into the kitchen to fix lunch.

I'll have to look for that in reruns.  SHe was a great foil for Charlie Sheen.

Looking her up on IMDB, I'm amazed that she's been around for so long without finding a break-out role until now on GLEE.

Thursday morning greetings!  DS Rob is off to UC for the first day of (we hope) his last quarter there.  There was an article in this morning's Cincinnati Enquirer about the honorary degrees that will be awarded at the December commencement and one of them is CCM's own Faith Prince.

And I loved her as Julia Childs' sister in "Julie & Julia" too.

And, yes, she's been around for a while.  Regardless of stardom, there's something to be said for career longevity.

I've also put in an order for CRY FOR US ALL.  I've heard a very scratchy copy of this a few years ago but still enjoyed it.  Can't wait to hear a clean version!

Unlike DR DtM - I don't want the clean version I want the one with Parental Warning sticker on the package.

As for the Topic of the Day...

Cream Puffs - Usually the ones from Beard Papa since they are filled to order.

On a similar note, it is has hard to find a good éclair nowadays, and since they're basically a cream puff in "long form", and I don't think I've ever seen and éclair filled to order.  However, I also like freshly piped/assembled/filled cannolis too.

Did CRY FOR US ALL have a chapter in NOT SINCE CARRIE, or am I thinking of another Marre/Diener collaboration?

TOD - Central Pastry here in Middletown, OH - an unassuming place that's the bright spot in several depressing downtown blocks.  Their fried Danish is my favorite.  Also, a bear claw from Panera.
