Next I watched last night's CASTLE. A fun episode even though I guessed the culprit(s) pretty easily once all the facts were laid before us. At least the writers did acknowledge where they got their idea for the episode from. Most just steal and take credit for their own "originality."

Next I watched Sunday night's DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. Though the episode contained the same mix of soapy melodrama and semi-black comedy that the show has always had, I have decided to move away from Wisteria Lane. I just don't want to go through another season with all this angst. I went through enough this summer to last me a lifetime, so this is 45 minutes I can save myself each week.

(I will miss seeing the wonderful Richard Burgi when he makes guest appearances, but I'll make the sacrifice and be content with the string of other gorgeous hunks which appear in some other shows which I regularly watch.)

Next I put in the Blu-ray of PINOCCHIO which, after seeing the Blu-ray of SNOW WHITE yesterday, looks even better than I thought it did when I reviewed it months ago. Gorgeous from beginning to end.

Around 3 p.m., the UPS man left a package at the door. Yep, THE UNIT arrived, so I had time after PINOCCHIO to watch the first episode in a five-disc box set.

I have never seen the show before. Never sampled it since it looked like military drama mixed with soap which it indeed is. The first episode seemed to set up the season. Terrorists have killed the Vice-President as well as the Vice-President-elect in an attempt to throw the government into disarray. The President-elect (played by Benito Martinez from THE SHIELD) was saved by the team in a blazing shootout which looks to be a trademark for the series.

It's a serialized drama show so they do need to be watched in order (not that I wouldn't watch them that way).

The kittens got a pretty good report from the vet. The eyes are much improved (I knew that), and the vet was very pleased with little Wally's eyes. She is concerned about the gray kitten's (Michael's) eyes, as she thinks his vision is quite impaired. Continue with the medicines and let her know if they don't continue to improve.

I'm exhausted already from all the packing and shlepping and shlepping and packing, then filling out the endless customs forms and UPS forms. I did those whilst having a sandwich and onion rings (lower calorie than fries) at Jerry's Deli. But as of four everything is shipped and tomorrow, after my meeting at LACC, which should be done by ten, I'm free to do whatever I damn well please.

I visited in the waiting room with another foster, who has the same problems. So we are sure it is something they all caught there.

I also visited with an animal control officer who is quite a softy. She is "fostering" a dog she picked up on the freeway that was emaciated and survived distemper. She knows she is going to keep Buddy.

VISION VIBES TO JAMES!!!

James is a young teen we met today. Actually we found him in the street on his back holding his hands over his forehead. His scooter was on the sidewalk. It appears his scooter hit something & James flew off the scooter, hit his head in the street & then flipped over on his back. We think he flipped instead of rolling on his back has something was leaking from his backpack.

Just as I jumped out of the car a gentleman jumped out of his & called 911, only he couldn’t connect. When a woman walked up he sent her down the street to the fire station. I then called James’s mother who was able to get there quickly. Before she arrived a Medford policewoman pulled over to assist. James was coherent, gave me his name & phone number, but closed his eyes and said he couldn’t see. When his mother arrived she got him to open his eyes and look at her, he still couldn’t see though he said he was trying.

It was nice how many people pulled up, or walked up to see if they could help including a nurse from across the street. When they knew they couldn’t help they left to stay out of the way, as we did once the paramedics arrived.

It sure is a quiet Monday here.

It rained a little last night, that combined with cooler temps & wind changes, the smoke is gone & the air is clean. It was a beautiful day. Now we are having some more of the much needed rain. I hope it stops before morning again.

Strange was the amount of time it took my brain to really register what I was really looking at, not until I noticed the scooter on the sidewalk.

Thank you DR DAW. Keith was driving the car & provided the phone. He wisely stayed back unless needed. I was the first to the boy & sat with him. Once the boy knew there were people with him he attempted to get up. The other man and I immediately said not to move. It was the other man who thought to send someone to the fire station, and attempted to call 911 before I even thought of it.

DR Jane i checked to see if ABC was showing CASTLE again on friday or saturday. It looks like they have other shows (flash forward and the forgotten on friday).

I know you don't like to do this. But i'm sure you could watch online.
