At one time I was a member of a Yahoo Group that was run by a man who was scanning all of his issues of AFTER DARK magazine.  These came from the 70's and 80's.

I just saved the emails in GOOGLE and finally last weekend - I finally put all of the images in a folder and then saved them to a disk.  It was fun to see all the photos again.  It was a different time.  It isn't a complete run, but it does have some interesting pictures and interviews.

The NYPL exhibit of Ken Duncan's photos last year  brought back a lot of AFTER DARK memories from the late 60s and 70s. I was hoping it would inspire a second book of photos after this one.

Nice pic of Mrs. Lovett!

DR JMK I didn't see that interview among the pages, but who knows.

AAAAAAhhhhh-choo!

I've been working with Rob in his room for the past couple of hours.  We have it more or less fit for human habitation, but we sure did encounter a lot of dust.  My vacuum cleaner got quite the workout.

Good Morning! Good Afternoon!

I'm up, I'm up... And I was a contestant in The Big Gay Spelling Bee last night.  I "lost" on the word "diphyodont".

In other news...

The living/dining room area and kitchen are (still) a mess - everything still needs to be put back in its place, and my bedroom is also a bit of a hodgepodge this morning too from all of the overflow stuff from the living and dining room.  So... Guess what I'll be doing today?

And before that, a little work on movie-related stuff, as we continue planning our next steps now that we've had our premiere.

So, after last night's round of The Big Gay Spelling Bee, my friend, Eric, and I headed to over to a halal chicken place, Big Arc Chicken, on 1st Avenue for post-Bee meal.  All in all, it was a good night - and it was great to get out of the apartment! - but by the time I got home, all I wanted to do was just go to bed and get some sleep. -And that's what I did.

Well, I probably would have spelled it correctly had it been pronounced correctly. ;)  -And, for the record, it wasn't.  But I still had a good time.

I am galloping from one crisis to another this morning. When I went in to brush my teeth, I found plaster chips all over the floor and toilet, and when I looked up, the bathroom ceiling above the toilet was dark and wet from a leak. That meant finding the super, who takes care of four buildings on the block for my cheapass landlord, and getting him to look at the problem. Of course, the tenant above me isn't home so we have no idea if the leak is in his bathroom, which is most likely. I do  not want the ceiling to fall in today. Although it's certainly a metaphor for my life at the moment.

Aren't you suppose to poke a small hole into the wet area to prevent it all from collapsing?

I thought he was really good.

A lot of the celebs on the show are much younger. But i think he totally holds his own.

And since he is popular, I'll bet he stays around till final 5 for sure.

In other news...

I really do have a lot of things to take care of this afternoon besides getting my apartment back in some semblance of order.  I also have to make a few big decisions over the next 24-48 hours too, so...

Laters...
