I found out to day that I have the option to have a medical procedure or not to have one on my leg. If I do, it may or may not alleviate the discomfort that I am having. But I don't want to have to wear a compression stocking for the rest of my life if I don't do it. The prodecure is call Endovenous Laser Treatment.

Well, at least you have an answer and a probable cure. Are you going to do it?

Awwww....

Gourmet, 68, To Die

:(

A shame.  I used to subscribe in the 1970s.  I have the original painting done for a cover of Gourmet back in the early 1950s.

Could you show it to us?

Well, I just bought a ticket to see BK's close and personal friend, STEPHEN SONDHEIM and Frank Rich speak live for the first time in my life...again!  Stephen Sondheim and Frank Rich came to Portland, Oregon March of 2008 and I had a ticket.  I was cast in Side Show (on the day of their first rehearsal) and accepted the role before I realized that my ticket to see Stephen Sondheim live in Portland was on the Tuesday before Side Show opened.  So, I didn't go.  I gave the ticket to a friend of mine and he enjoyed the evening.  Now it's my turn!! ;D

I also paid the extra $11 to park in the theater parking lot.

We went for our seasonal flu shots today.  I wish I had done it when my allergies weren't bothering me.  So far I don't feel any worse.  I will take a Benadryl tonight.

Does any plan to set the swine flu shot?  I'm pretty sure I'll pass on it.

I haven't heard from The Game Warden in months. Maybe he has abandoned me.

"Abandoned By the Game Warden (or What the Chambermaid Saw)"-- the title of my next book!

What a day.  Cason came over and we spent quite a long time addressing quite a LOT of packages, after which he printed the postage for all the single orders, which also took a very long time.  He put postage on about seventy packages but it was so late I told him to just go and that I'd finish that task, which I will tomorrow.  Cason will be back on Wednesday morning to help package - but we got everything addressed and that was the most important thing.  Then I was really hungry and went to Jerry's Deli and had my usual sandwich and fries whilst doing some work.  Then I came home and listened to the edited master for Bananas - what FUN!  This was a really hard one to put together for reasons I'll explain in the notes this week - it took him a long time to do it, but the result is brilliant, and even though I didn't mention it in the press release I printed here this morning, both scores are in stereo (the Sleeper main title is mono).  The official announcement will have the stereo news.  And now I am ready to relax.

Ready to Relax!

I talked to Evil Kurt on Saturday and we made tentative plans to go see MR BK'S THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X when it is presented by Buck Creek Players next spring.

The funniest thing that happened yesterday was that one boy asked for a flu shot and a lollipop. I told him his grandma could take the paperwork for his mom to sign and bring it back. Then his older brother said "You already had a flu shot." The little boy yelled "No I didn't! You're lying!"

He really wanted a lollipop.

And now, I'm off.  The library system where I work has instigated late fees for the first time in our 40-year history.  They start accruing if an item is turned in later after October 1.  I have a DVD checked out to me that my sister has and it's due today.  I have to get it from her and turn it in before the morning.  If something is turned in in a book-drop, it counts as having been returned the night before...which is a good thing. :)

Until later!

Not even a bandaid.  I'm please to say I didn't need it  like I did last year.  I'm hoping that means I won't have a big bruise on my arm like I did last year.  It hurt immediately after & already feels much better.  The shot itself didn't hurt.

Funny about the boy :)  The turnout may not have been big but you can't deny it was entertaining ;)

Had a great night of very varied viewing experiences. I began with today's soaps. THought the gay boys weren't present in either ATWT or OLTL, there was more of the Holden kidnap plot on ATWT and there was a lesbian and David Vickers Buchanan as a faux-homosexual for a little while. SOme funny stuff on the latter show with Tuc Watkins always a standout.

Next I watched the MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR film. Brendan Fraser looked wonderful with his shirt off, but that son was pretty much a turn-off and very uncharismatic. Brendan's "new" wife was no patch on Rachel Weitz, and the plot seemed rather desperately trying to invent new problems and then solve them by adding "rules" to the mythology that weren't stated beforehand. I LOATHE this kind of storytelling.

I'm sure the movie would look great on Blu-ray, but I'll never know since I have no desire to ever see it again.

After that, I pulled BANANAS off the shelf and watched it. It is still a very funny movie though some of the gags are hit and miss. And I'd rather have seen Diane Keaton in the lead rather than Louise Lasser (yes, I know they were together at the time).

The film certainly looked its age on that MGM DVD transfer. At least it WAS anamorphic.

Then, I put THE WIZARD OF OZ Blu-ray back in and rewatched some of it. I'll rewatch more of it tomorrow. I was SO impressed with the quality of this transfer.

I concluded my evening by watching last night's MAD MEN. WHile the Pete story was of no interest to me, I was rather riveted by Betty in Rome. How accomplished and assured she was! I so felt for her coming back to her kind of dull if comfortable suburban life. And what a surprise to see Joan again! That was interesting.

All in all, a nice change of pace episode.
