I'm curious if you can get flu shots at pharmacies everyone in the US.

Wow. I got mine last month. And I was disappointed so few people showed up at our clinic on Sunday. Most people here have had them already.

Both pharmacies on our end of town have been giving flu shots this year.  Last year we went a bit earlier & waited in a good sized line at the only pharmacy with a clinic.  This year we went across the street (we were too late for the other clinic)  and had a short wait.  I don't know if there had been a line across the street.

DR Jose, you make a good point about having the 2 flu shots close to each other.  Since the swine flu is a year round deal I would rather be vaccinated for that in the spring, if I were to opt for the vaccination.

Well... Here's a Flu Shot Q&A from The New York Times.

Your new car is lovely, DR TCB.

As is your upcoming cruise.

And I'm moving in with you next week.

I agree with you, DR Jennifer regarding TAKEN, but, let's admit it, it's just a popcorn movie, one that really should not be taken too seriously.
I probably liked MILK much more than you did, finding everything about it fascinating, especially its incredible attention to period detail.

re: TAKEN. I mean obviously it wasn't that serious. But to me they made it almost laughable having him take on so many villains at once (alone).

Well, he was far better trained than the villains were, and far more motivated.

The next movies I should be getting from the library are:

DUPLICITY (with julia roberts), WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS (with Cameron Diaz) and MANAGEMENT (with Jennifer Aniston). I don't really know much about any of them. But for free I can't really complain.  I just wish the library got more television series. I still have not yet seen season 4 of the CLOSER. :(

Well... It does appear that the seasonal flu vaccine has already been available here in NYC for a couple of weeks.  There are very limited supplies of the H1N1 vaccine available for those in the "high risk" group, with a more "public" supply to be available in another 10-14 days.  -And since the labs have been in high gear over the past couple of months, there could be an "updated" seasonal vaccine available in January.

OY!

*Personally, I've never had a flu shot, and I don't believe I've ever had the flu, so... <knock wood>

Yah but do you really think he could take on all those people?

I kept telling myself what you said (the training). But that seems like it would only get you so far. At least if he had a partner it might be a little more believable.

As far as I can tell, and you can go to any pharmacy you want.  We don't have to watch for a clinic in our neighborhood.  Next year we will likely go back to the other pharmacy.  They ran our insurance card through right there.  This clinic was separate from the pharmacy & was a hassle, plus we had to give them a credit card number for any charges.

What a sweet thought, TCB.

Here's everyone's trivia question (no fair Googling this):  who is the non-Lani Hall female in that photo?  Hint:  It's NOT Janis Hansen.

I probably liked MILK much more than you did, finding everything about it fascinating, especially its incredible attention to period detail.

I thought the story in MILK was fascinating. I didn't know all the details. I liked how they showed some real footage mixed in with the film. The parts i was less thrilled with was how they portrayed so many of the characters as just hopping from bed to bed.

Well, they had to tone it down for "middle America" audiences.

I always get the seasonal flu shot. I had it once and it was terrible and I've never missed a shot since.  I'll get the H1N1 when it's widely available.  I also get it because I see people in jail who can't just stay home if they are sick

DR Jennifer - The bed-hopping in "Milk" was not "portrayed".  It was "re-enacted".

Well... Here's a Flu Shot Q&A from The New York Times.

I did not see any mention of the shot vs nasal spray.  I would need to be convinced I won't react to the nasal spray the same way I reacted to the old live virus shot.

The nasal-spray flu vaccine: "a vaccine made with live, weakened flu viruses that do not cause the flu"

As for the swine flu nasal spray, I read it is not recommended if you have asthma: “earlier studies have shown that the live-virus vaccine might precipitate an asthma attack.”

Well, the lease isn't signed but it's pretty much  a done deal. They are going to invest over $30,000 on the renovations - their dime not mine, but, of course, it does have an impact on the rent amount.   I got a ball park today.   It's reasonable considering the size of the office and the market, but it scares me.

I have decided, however, I'm going to go for it.   I have never allowed myself to have a really nice office - I had a nice one at the feds, but not on my own.    I've lived through little holes in the wall, mold and mildew and nice but tiny with less space than I need.   I don't have kids, I don't have a spouse to take care of,  I'm almost 50 and I decided I'm worth it.   If I have to work a little harder to pay for it, at least I'll be working harder in a really nice place.

So, I'm excited, I'm scared and I'm really looking forard to it.  Tomorrow I'll sign my life away for the next 5 years.   It's going to be soo cool and I'll move into it in January!!
