It is getting colder and colder to bikeride outdoors. Actually it's not the temp (it was high 50s today) but the wind. It has been very windy this week. Which makes one direction a breeze and the other torture!

Since SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE unexpectedly decided to do a Fall season as well, here we have SYTYCD canada on too (we just got to the top 6).

Interestingly we've had a lot of the US judges stop by (thank goodness since i do not care for most of the canadian judges).

This week mia michaels came back (she was here 2 weeks ago too). She shaved her head!

She seems very involved with the cast (she did some of the auditions too). ANd she made a stir by telling the top 4 girls that they were the strongest final 4 girls EVER on any version of the show.

I think people really listen to what she says. Because my favorite male dancer was repeatedly in the bottom guys. And then mia said he was her favorite dancer. And since then he has never been in the bottom (even with only 4 guys left).

And this week mia blasted one of her favorite female dancers (2 weeks ago she said this girl was her fav) and she got the boot.

Yes I want piano stairs, too.

HALLMARK CHANNEL is showing I LOVE LUCY....the getting ready to go to California sequence.  Lucy is teaching Ethel to drive......hilarity ensues.

Page four?  Really?  I'm waiting for Cason to arrive - we should be able to finish what we need to do in about fifteen minutes, then we'll drive the stuff to the postal office, then eat.

I am absolutely shocked to read that BK might put a risqué ditty into the NUDIE MUSICAL!  Shocked, I tell you!

T.O.D.

No doubt, without question my favorite would be CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND.  It is probably the only movie I have ever watched a dozen or more times.

The new LET'S MAKE A DEAL is not very good - but then I didn't think much of the old version either.

The host of the show is a BORE.  So bad it's not even funny.

I hadn't even heard about this.  Who's the host and when is it on?

Hmm...I've always liked Wayne Brady. :-\

Well, Twitter was dealing with a "Timeline lag" earlier today.  Maybe HHW is dealing with the same thing. ;)

DR Jose - I'm glad to hear that your parents are OK.  That sounds just like something my mother would do.

I mean...it's not like parents expect their adult progeny to keep them fully informed.

der Brucer

JOSE-

I'm Happy To Hear That Your Parents are OK

I know what you mean.  My mom takes her time telling me things.  Back in the late 1970s, it took her two and half pages of a letter to let me know my great-grandmother (maternal) had passed away.

In the 1990s, it took her a page and a half to let me know my beloved cat Dickens had been struck and killed by a car.

I prefer now to speak with her by phone at least once a week.

Still...I'm always braced to hear, "I died last week.  Had a nice funeral."

Years ago, my mother was called to serve on a state grand jury. She and my dad had to spend several days in Columbia, SC. During the time of their stay, my mother got mugged, knocked down, and her purse stolen. They didn't tell me anything about it until MONTHS after the fact.

I'm guess this is a case of company loves misery?  ::)

Thank You for sharing your parental "adventures", DRs Ginny, DERBRUCER, Ron Pulliam and MattH.

Oh...

While talking with my parents earlier today, I did find out that all of our relatives in the Philippines are safe and sound and relatively high and dry.  That was very nice - and comforting - to hear.

And now something from the Funny Sh*t Department:

Don't Argue With The Gay Flight Attendant

My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks.

As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told us "Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super."

On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed an extremely well-dressed and exotic young woman hadn't moved a muscle. "Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground."

She calmly turned her head and said, "In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one."

To which the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat, "Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray up, Bitch."
