DR Elmoore

What exactly is your production credit for Finnian's Rainbow. I went to website and was distressed not to see your name among the creative talent

In short...

The recital was wonderful, and there were a lot of people there too!  Lots of familiar faces, and it was good to catch up with former classmates, studio-mates and teachers.  I did end up going to the reception afterwards, and she did have quite the spread of food set out for everyone.  -As well as the pitchers of vermouth-cassis. :)

So Conrad's understudy gets to go on?

Isn't that a movie or something?

After the reception, I met up with Steve at Joe's Inn for a proper dinner.  Their Spaghetti à la Greek (baked spaghetti topped with provolone and feta cheese and meat sauce) hit the spot as it always does, and their table bread was very fresh tonight too.

And on a related note, it should be mentioned that the actress/dancer who played "Susan" at the final dress rehearsal of Finian's Rainbow the other night, learned the part in three hours that afternoon.  The original "Susan" had come down with pneumonia.  Brava and Congrats to Leslie Donna Flesner!  And Get Well Wishes to Alina Faye.

Maybe he caught a chill working in the LA strip joints?

Got some fun things watched tonight. I began with PSYCH. There were some good laughs in this werewolf story (I guess it was supposed to be the Halloween episode, but since the show finishes its fall season next Friday, I guess they just went ahead and ran it now.) Not much of a mystery, but fun to see David Naughton in a werewolf story since he starred as a VERY famous werewolf all his own.

Isn't that what they say about Darlene Edwards?

However, Larry, did make the IBDB listing for Finian's Rainbow!

And to refresh your memory, here's the pic I took and posted the other night:

Next I watched THE OFFICE and had a good time with the wedding episode. Filled with goofiness and laughs and some sweet things, too. Most of the office memebrs got one or more moments in the spotlight which is always nice.

While waiting for my primetime program, I went ahead and watched another NCIS episode from last season. It involved the shady CIA agent Trent Cord once again (a fun recurring character), and I remember being genuinely surprised by the resolution when I first saw the episode. A fun revisit.

And...

It was sort of interesting(?) when I was running into people earlier.  Almost everyone seemed quite surprised to see me.  They were all pleasantly surprised, but surprised nonetheless.  -I guess it had been a while since my last appearance in the VCU Music Building.

My teacher, Dr. V., was also pleasantly surprised to see me.  However, at the reception, she not only introduced me to some of her current students and friends as "one of the most talented students" she's ever had, she also said that I was "looking handsome".  <blush>

Enjoyed tonight's episode of DEXTER, too. I was sure I knew who the neighborhood vandal was, but I was mistaken. I liked the way Dexter resolved that problem. Too bad he didn't have his syringe with him!

So, exactly how do people who cannot sing get cast in Broadway shows?

And please, when you answer that, remember that this is a family site.

Do we think the tonsillitis is the same as the Pal Joey situation?

I wondered the same thing... But since at least two or three members of the ensemble have been out sick - really sick - for the past week and a half... Well...  But maybe some of the "boards" know the real scoop. Or at least the presumed real scoop.

;D

However...

I have been a part of two productions where there was an actor who had a great audition, did very well in the callbacks, but then once the rehearsals started, we all realized that what we saw the actor do and give during the audition process was all that actor had to give.  Last minute cast changes - whether by necessity or otherwise - are never a good thing for the company as a whole. Tension. Tension. Tension.

And now I'm going to head downstairs and get in bed. I've been up WAY past my bedtime for the last two nights and would like to get back to the established routine of an 11 p.m. bedtime.
