Wow, the technical quality of the Bert Kaempfert clip is GREAT. Youtube clips can be hard to watch sometimes but this one is in great shape.

Yes Mr Boone and Gale Storm were BIG Dot sellers.

I was surprised at the number of records Miss Gale Storm recorded. I had no idea she had such a large output

She was big all over!

On AS THE WORLD TURNS Tamara Tunie of LAW & ORDER SVU is out of her lab coat today as the mother of the black attorney who's written so poorly that she couldn't recognize a client's missing baby she was seeking several months ago.

I love Miss Tunie!

DR edisaurus - Is this the same documentary/special that will be premiering on TCM on November 4? Then subsequently presented at GSU the following week?

The very same...

Please add to you vibes list some extra for Papasaurus, who went into the hospital today with another of his many syncopal episodes. I'll head north to see him after work...

Time to move forward, once you have made up your mind.

If I moved forward, I would crash into the neighbor's retaining wall. For us, all progress must start with moving backward.

Well, I had quite a surprise when I got in from lunch. I was sitting happily watching a PERRY MASON episode, planning on watching a whole bunch of them this afternoon when the doorbell rang, and it was the UPS man holding, you guessed it, the FIVE Fox Blu-rays that are only 9 days past street date.

Still, I immediately put on MIRACLE ON 34th STREET (1947) and was charmed all over again with its love and spirit and warmth and charm. I also had time to listen to a good chunk of Maureen O'Hara's commentary.

Before heading out to lunch, I had time to watch last night's MODERN FAMILY. I think it's the strongest episode yet for the series. I was hysterical for much of the show. Shelley Long was the guest star, but it's the core cast that's just dead-on perfect in their roles. What a wonderful new show!

I did get to watch one PERRY MASON episode before heading out to lunch. Darryl Hickman was the most famous of the guest stars, and he grew up to be a stunningly handsome young man (he still looks good). Really enjoyed his performance in the episode.

Listening to CRY FOR US ALL, I guess I can understand it not capturing an audience.  While the music and performances are glorious, the lyrics are pretty heavy handed.  THat might have been appropo to the original material, but it also needs a touch of the poetic.

And hopefully accompanied by a loud "BEEP!  BEEP!  BEEP!  BEEP!" as we backup.

Nope - all backing-up is on our property is a tricky maneuver to get the car pointing out of the drive way. One drives straight back until the sewage grinder is abeam the rear car door, then cut the wheels right to back up to the pine tree under the squirrel feeder - being careful not to plunge off our own retaining wall into the wetlands; next you start forward, cutting the wheels to the left to avoid running over the embedded propane tank; at the top of the drive cut sharply to the right - if you cut too sharp you take out our mail box or the other retaining wall takes out the fender; if you don't cut sharp enough you will take out the mailbox across the street.

After mastering this evolution, Woody's driving test was a snap!
