Good Evening! Well...
I headed down earlier to Jazz at Lincoln Center to attend a orchestra concert. A friend of mine was called to play with the orchestra last week - it's sort of a "pick up" group, and since they had comps for tonight's concert, well...
When I got there at 6:45pm, the "Will Call" line was about 80 people deep. The concert was scheduled to start at 7:00pm. I get up to the desk/table, give them the name that the tickets were held under... "I'm sorry, we don't have them here, but if you wait over there, we will be handing out the remaining tickets shortly." It was already 7:05pm, and there were about 60 people "over there".
I texted my friend about the delay, and he texted back saying the stage manager had informed them that they would be starting the concert a few minutes late. When 7:15 rolled around, I called him and told him that I really wasn't in the mood to wait any longer and would probably just head home. And once 7:20 rolled around -and once I saw that the staff was starting to write out location passes for everyone who was still waiting for tickets, well...
Buh-bye.
