John seems like a really nice guy.  Your mother must be something to have been mad at him for getting upset that she was pregnant with another man's child-LOL

Do you see your father?  I don't remember you mentioning him.

I'm soooo tired.  Just was watching a Blu and Ray and could not keep my eyes open.  Well, dinner in a little while.  That should wake me up.

So many DRs whose parents did not want them to leave home.

My mom had been wanting me out of the house ever since I was born  >:(

She even tried to give me up for adoption!

I heard they wanted to send you back and keep the stork and cigars.

Don't worry, Michael...we'd never do that to you! :-*

I would have sold him.

I've been watching more episodes of IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA. At some point I need to wrap my opening night gift for the conductor. I think I'll give David, the assistant conductor, a nice assortment of muffins.

I still have the opening-night apple earrings you gave me for being your rehearsal assistant for The Apple Tree.

Good Evening!

I decided to go ahead and head out for a bit after the rain stopped earlier. I'm still feeling a little "off", but I'm also feeling like whatever is "off" in my system is on its way out. (I hope.)  Oh, and a 15-minute cat nap also helped. :)

And hopefully, twenty years from now, David will still have the muffins.

DR elmore - Will the muffins be meant only for David or for David and his fellow pit-mates?  Otherwise, if I'm remembering correctly: red wine or dark chocolate or Levain.

DR MBarnum - Are you sure you haven't told your story to one of the writers of "The Young & The Restless" before? ;)  Otherwise...

Wow! and Whoa! - Thanks for sharing your story.

I am a bit disappointed to see that Cheyenne Jackson is wearing clothes in this show.  If the costumer thinks she is getting my Tony vote, she has another think coming.

DR Jose - I still have a scratchy throat and my feet are still blistered, but otherwise I'm OK.  The weather map in our paper this morning made it look like yesterday's rain just sat down in NYC and stayed for a while.

It's sunny here in SW Ohio and I'm about to venture down to Trenton to pick up my engagement ring.

It's about time you two made it legal!

As for the Topic of the Day...

Well, each fall that I returned to school at VCU, I more or less moved away from home. Again. And again. And again.  And that pattern sort of continued for a few years after I graduated since whenever I worked in the DC area, I stayed with my parents, and whenever I was on the road, my parents' house was basically my "permanent address".

The big move happened when I was 29 and decided to move back to Richmond.  I was visiting some friends for the weekend, found out that the music store there was looking for a manager for their sheet music room... And after being interviewed and hired in the same afternoon, well... At first, I stayed in the spare room of one of my college professors, and then found an apartment on the Northside of town.  Then I met Steve that September, and then I moved in with him that October.

I guess I didn't really have my own place until a few years later, "after Steve", but I stayed in Richmond, and moved in with my friend, Christopher.  I needed a room, and he had an open room in his apartment.  Since I was still working on shows that time up in DC, I was able to gradually furnish my room - and the kitchen - with regular stops at IKEA on the way back down to Richmond: bed, shelving, tables, chairs, lamps, etc.  -And managing to walk into Williams-Sonoma just as they had set up a new table of clearance items also helped.

Speaking of windy - it was too windy today for me to go on for a bikeride. The weather channel said the winds were 25km/hr (which i find to be too windy). Although i was still going to go but it started raining. And it was so cloudy all day!

I hope it's nicer tomorrow.

I had a great lunch with George and we laughed a lot over gossip and dish about John McGlinn, the Signature Theatre, a trip to Africa, the tour of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, friends and what they are up to, and our places in the cosmos. George is soon off to play Captain von Trapp in Houston for the holiday and we promised to see each other in 2010 when he returns.

Anyone at Signature talking about a Randy Newman project yet? I've heard rumblings about it...

BANANAS & SEX arrived at my home today.

I am also most pleased that with the absence of GLEE I will be able to watch that FAMILY show that looks very funny....at least in the promos.

HOUSE OF PAYNE? :-)

I was delightfully surprised this afternoon to note that my Time-Warner cable system has added several more HD channels to its line-up including TCM-HD. I was VERY excited about that!

I'm still waiting...

I am not seeing TCM HD - maybe after the first of the month we will get some new channels.  I don't buy the monthly magazine from COMCAST, so it's usually a surprise when something shows up in the grid.

That looks like a nice evening there DR derBRUCER!!!  Lots of food.

NO not House of Payne....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....Modern Family.

He puts deals together.  He has several major features in the pipeline right now.  That said, he is the first to admit (as he did today) he's "not Steven Spielberg."  I was equally honest and said I didn't really see a huge market for another FF feature, to which he responded, "So what?", which made me laugh.  I suggested a documentary might be the better way to go.  We're just at the very early stages of a discussion.  Nothing may come if it.  Or something.  Time will tell.
