And ... it will sell!

(Hey, Mr Kritzerland Producer! We're talking to you sir!)

 1978.

 1 9 7 8 !

Ethel Merman (70, Girl, 70) appearing on the Merv Griffin Show. On the same show was Karen Morrow, Dolores Gray and Ann Miller.

(Can you believe? Those 4 big names on one TV show?! Wish I could SEE this show!)

Savour!

Not a concern here, in fact we don't even have Halloween out here.

Well, if instead of tofu brownies you offered Levain cookies, you'd have lines of goblins down the drive.

Since the story about Teri White is a feature, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to access it later via the News section on CBS.com.

Thanks for letting me know about this.  But, I've seen news segments on-line that were edited because of music content. :-\

So, I got home at about 6:25 pm, but didn't realize that the CBS evening news is at 5:30 pm on the left coast. :( So I missed it.  I guess I'll check to see if it's on CBS.com.

I'm thinking about going to Amelia this weekend.  I've always been a bit fascinated with Amelia Earhart. I know it hasn't gotten the best reviews, but I think I'll go anyway.

Good Evening!

I'm back from Brooklyn... Back from dinner...

I'm not sure how you say "Yum!" in Polish, but the food I had earlier tonight at Krolewskie Jadlo - King's Feast - was indeed quite yummy. And very, very filling. *And the bread was served with pickles and lard(!).

Today I left work early to go to the movie and because I was just tired of the whole week. So tomorrow I need to go in and do some serious writing, do the books and just be there by myself when I can be productive.  I think if I spend a 1/2 day it will be great.

Tomorrow night I'm going to a Halloween party at Garage Mahal....my friends' new garage that is reportedly as big or bigger than their house, lol

In other news...

This announcement truly floored me...

‘Brighton Beach Memoirs’ to Close Sunday

They just officially opened earlier this week!  Granted the reviews weren't "glowing", but still... WOW!  I know some people involved with the production, and it's been a bit sad reading some of their Facebook status updates this evening.  However, apparently, it's a "provisional closing notice", so the fate of the productions won't ultimately be decided until Monday.  -I'm wondering if Santino Fontana can step back in Billy Elliot? :-\

Why are there photos of Hasselhoff at the Finian's opening?

I don't get Hasselhoff.

Perhaps he wants Cheyenne's role when he leaves the show? There were a lot of photos of that Pill lady, too, but I didn't see any of Brian Dennehy, Susan Stroman and Trevor Nunn who were also there.

Alison Pill is getting a lot of coverage due to her casting in the upcoming production of The Miracle Worker - which in itself is attracting a lot of attention due to the casting of Abigail Breslin as Helen Keller.

UGLY BETTY is a great looking show, and the cast is ALL doing the SAME show!  I think it is even better this year.

I guess that's what happens when your show is on the verge of being cancelled.  In any case...

I'm watching tonight's episode now (via DVR), and it's nice seeing how they have combined various NYC locales.  It was also nice seeing the whole "Taj Mah Hot Dog" set-up which I happened to come across during one of my walks a few months ago.

DR MBarnum - Do you watch "Ugly Betty"? If not, you might want to check out tonight's episode online.  At least for the whole Taj Mah Hot Dog sequence. ;)

If you haven't seen this trailer you may enjoy it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyrkcz7msfY It's from the Michael Jackson movie.  I have to say it really blew me away.  I may go see it again tomorrow

I'd see it tomorrow, but, apparently, every showing in NYC is sold out for the duration of the run.

That's too bad.  I guess I didn't think about it selling out.  There were plenty of seats at the matinee I went to.

So is anyone else even remotely interested in seeing Michael Jackson's This Is It?  Just curious about what people think

Although...  I have one friend who is - well, how should I put this? - a disciple of Michael Jackson.  -And, no, DR Ginny, I'm not talking about him.  Ever since Michael Jackson died, almost every tweet on Twitter and status update on Facebook has been about Michael Jackson.  And once the movie was announced, the countdown started.  She has seen it four times already - and even took a day off without pay(!) in order to catch the first 11:00pm showing here in NYC - and the first show the following morning. Frankly, it's a bit scary, and sort of off-putting - at least to me.  Today, she even started de-friending people on Facebook who were making jokes and/or questioning her "devotion".  Like I said, sort of scary.

So, can someone tell me if it is considered gauche to eat in a noodle shop in the Italian style - i.e., twirling the noodles on your fork?   Just curious.

What kind of noodles will you be eating? Italian spaghetti? Japanese udon? Chinese hand-pulled la mian? Thai pad thai? Korean jap chae?

Just curious.  ;)

In any case... Just remember to slurp.

The Blu and Ray of North By Northwest has been shipped from amazon.com - VERY exciting - definitely here by Tuesday, but I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for early delivery on Monday.

DR DAW - you of course use a spoon.  You spoon the noodles onto a piece of bread, add ketchup, and eat it as noodle sandwich.

Was that in "I Love Lucy" or "That Girl"?
