I'm happy to report that after my last early-morning post about not being able to read today's column, I went to bed.

Upon logging on this morning, the new notes popped up for me.  Perhaps my PC did a little cache-cleaning while I slept.

DR Laura - Could you ask the Game Warden to knock on your neighbor's door?

Or, quite possibly, could you move all the dirt and palm fronds back into HIS yard?

I'm heading down now to get started on the day's viewing both for pleasure (great) and profit (miniscule).

Well the 22" monitor is what I bought.  So I will be powering down to install it.  See you in about three days.

Well, if I make him angry, he will call the City on me, and I don't want the gummit in my backyard.

The Game Warden is enough gummit contact for me. When he shows, which is almost never.

So...you're saying that he has something on you and you will just have to take whatever he dishes out lest he turn you in?

think of it as his own personal dumping ground, so he puts all his yard wastes in his little tractor and drives them around the block and down the easement to dump them on the bank of Peachtree Creek. He has been doing this for years, even though we told him that he's creating a snake and rat haven. During the flood, all of his yard refuse was washed away down the creek, only to be caught up in the mass of debris at the bridge which backed up and flooded his neighbors' homes. But that's apparently better than mulching it or putting the waste out at the street for the city to pick up. Grrrrr...

Did I miss something, Edisaurus?  Or is Laura's neighbor your neighbor, too?

Oops, I corrected a typo and it obliterated the first, but it was something like:

DR Laura, I feel your pain. The guy who owns the land surrounding us thinks of it as his own personal dumping ground, so he puts all his yard wastes in his little tractor and drives them around the block and down the easement to dump them on the bank of Peachtree Creek. He has been doing this for years, even though we told him that he's creating a snake and rat haven. I slept another couple of hours and had weird dreams, one in which I was kept waiting for three hours in an Eyetalian restaurant.

Did anyone watch the Leo Frank doc? I knew most of the people who were interviewed (friends from Marietta) and I STILL fell asleep. I hope they will re-run it.

The new CD sounds like a winner, and very cool to have it autographed by the composer!

I bet Ken Thorne has some great stories about the films he worked on back in the 60's.

I wonder if I could send it all to him COD by FedEx. He'd have to pay for it AND he'd have to go pick it up.

Errands are run. Now I shall make some ginger tea and hope it helps this damned cold clear out.

Barnes & Noble shipped my GOLDEN APPLE vocal score; it just arrived looking mighty pretty.

Well, our very own troublemaker, 3D Diffusion, who loves to snipe at me or anyone from this site over at FSM has posted the following, having to do with what I talked about in today's notes - the first line is something she quoted from another post, a post from someone agreeing with the reasons I might be upset about this little brouhaha:

"don't mean to begrudge La La Land at all - free market! - but I absolutely understand why Bruce might be a little nonplussed."

Oh, he's more than nonplused. Perhaps you don't know what he means when he says, repeatedly, "Let the games begin."

It means he's now going to indulge in an unrelenting war against LaLaLand for the next ten years or so...never mind if their original purpose was totally innocent...he doesn't think so, and that's all that matters.

No never mind - I just checked this cable is for a connection I do not have on my computer....so I will put in a safe place for when I upgrade my system.....in other words, when I win the PowerBall.

This woman is, how shall I put it, a little unbalanced, I think.  Or, for reasons that escape me, she just carries a grudge and feels the need to do this, here and elsewhere.  A little peculiar, if you ask me.

She does this - it's her thing.  She hits and runs.  She did it to dear reader Ron Pulliam a few month ago - made a post and ran - a post designed to inflame.  He responded calmly, she hit the road.  Karma usually takes care of people who hit and run, though.

My sister got a call today telling her that her friend's 11-12 year old niece (who came trick-or-treating with us) might have the swine flu.

She was fine until sunday night, and now has a high fever and achy throat (among other things).  I'm not really sure how catchable it is. But she only met us outside and everyone was wearing gloves. And she was not coughing.

She was holding her cousin's hand (my niece's friend), but did not touch the baby (my 5 1/2 month old niece). Oy.  So now everyone is sort of concerned. Although if she was only outside, and wearing gloves...

I hope she feels better. And i hope my nieces, my sister and her friend's kids don't catch anything.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My sister's friend has a 1 1/2 year old (who is a cousin to the sick girl). And this little girl also has bad asthma. Fingers crossed.

The little girl may have been first in line for the vaccination.  Did they say if she had it?

STAY HEALTHY VIBES TO YOU ALL!

I'm curious what the H1N1 situation is in other places. Here they have only started the shots for health care workers. Supposedly on friday they are starting for high risk people. But they are going to try to start earlier. Since everyone is wanting a shot now.

Only 2 people have died in quebec in 2 months. But the school situation is bad. There are a lot of kids out with flu like symptoms. And people are panicking. Not good.  And a lot of the places that will give shots are only opening on nov 16th!

I called 2 pharmacies out of curiosity and both had neither the seasonal or H1N1 vaccine.  My brother in L.A. finally went to get the seasonal flu shot & it wasn't available.

DR Jane re: whether "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest" is available in canada.

I'm not sure. I have not been to the book store in a while. I see only the first 2 books at my library. And when i go to amazon.ca i see that the audio book is coming out this month. but it doesn't show the book.

Any chance you can call a bookstore & ask?  I'm very curious.

I wondered how long it would take the Environmental Protection Agency to deport you. They're faster than the Post Office!

DR GINNY wins for busiest day contest - so far.

I'm going to be spending the day moving the dirt that the next-door-neighbor put behind my fence when he excavated to do some backyard project. I got a citation from the city for it.

:o The city won't cite the neighbor instead?
Are you being nice or is this a neighbor who won't clean up the mess?
