The orange sour cream cake in the rose pan looked beautiful & was rather tasty too.  It was a BIG hit.

Will you consider sharing the recipe with us, DR Jane?      :)

Not mine to share.  I'll have to ask.  I think the citrus sauce needs a bit of tweaking.

DR EDISAURUS did you mean Thelma Todd?  I don't know Mabel Todd.

DR JMK - what a socko set of movies!  "The Farmer's Other Daughter" aka "She Was a Haystack Hooker" - disintegrating bathing suits at the 4th of July beauty pageant - AND the militia.  What else could you want in a movie?  And it's in color!

Here she is...she was paired several times with Ted Healy:

DR Elmore, I'm coming up to NY on Dec 21st and leaving the 23rd, to do a screening of rough cut of our Jews and Baseball film. I know it's wishful thinking, but I would love to see FINIAN'S RAINBOW as well as BIRDIE (just to see Bill Irwin!) and am wondering if you think that's feasible. I was shooting to see one the night of the 22nd and then a matinee on the 23rd. A Christmas present to ME! I know shows are probably very crowded that time of year!

I will probably also coming up for a few days a week or two before. Maybe I need to see the Radio City musical hall xmas show. I also want to see OLEANNA. Too much to do, but maybe if I spread it out between the two trips...

Do you or Jose know which of these shows might close first? Or is that a loaded question?

I have returned from the north side of Dayton, where several members of the grantwriters' board took our former treasurer out to dinner to thank her for her service.  She was pleased.

DR edisaurus, I can get you a house seat for either evening or matinee if you are willing to pay for an expensive seat. Otherwise, I would suggest you go online and order one soon. I hope we'll still be running through the holiday. I want Charlotte to see it!

I've been purchasing Christmas gifts online today. I am stymied on a gift for my wonderful sister-in-law Jo, however. I may need to look into some craft shops for quilting suggestions.

I finished watching ONE LIFE TO LIVE which I had started at the end of the afternoon. Very lovely first date for Kyle and FIsh who have decided to take it slow. Again, not the move I would have made, but I'm not either them.

Perhaps dear reader MattH could drop Mr. Harris a PM on the HTF site (I'm banned from there for having opinions) - and ask him to e-mail me at haineshisway at gmail dot com.  Much appreciated.

I'll do it when I get there later.

BUT....

I still have my leg being operated on Friday morning. So no wonder I have been so stressed out.

I hope this corrective surgery will alleviate all the problems I have had over the years.

I then skimmed through ATWT. Nothing remotely interesting for me. The President's news conference interrupted the previews for tomorrow.

Then I began again with SCRUBS. I got a total of 16 episodes watched today. That leaves three for tomorrow plus the bonus features on disc two (there were a fair number of them.) I should be able to complete the set by tomorrow afternoon.

Half hour comedies certainly go a lot faster than one hour drama box sets!

Then I watched tonight's NCIS. A good, exciting cat and mouse episode.

I was hoping McGee's girl friend would turn out to be a snake in the grass (she was just too perfect to be believed).

If I can stay awake we are going to watch TELL NO ONE, a French film from the Harlan Coban novel.

Hmmm, divarobbie came and went without a post.  Very interesting on many levels.

My damn internet went down before I could post.  Verizon is the worst.  I wanted to congratulate you on your anniversary (a day late, but what do I know?)!

I did not get any additional Fox movies or review today, so I'll just finish SCRUBS tomorrow and then have the rest of the day free.

The rain had stopped earlier in the evening, but it started back up again about half an hour ago. I'm sure we've had 1 1/2 inches of rain at least today.

And now I think I'll finish up some business up here and then head downstairs to bed.

Good night!

Time for me to leave.  I want to get some new cat scratchers for my cat.  She's practically clawed them down to the bottom of the cardboard.

Until later!
