Back from a splendidly splendid lunch with the MGM lady - more good news came out it - a release I thought wasn't possible is now possible.

Thanks to BK for answering my Lauren Bacall question.

I think Brent's CD is fantastic--I've listened to it over and over!

DR Elmore--I'm going to see Finian's Rainbow Saturday--I'm really looking forward to it!

Good Evening!

It really is sort of amazing just how much work one can get done when one turns off the computer and the iPhone.

Although, "work" in this case means: grocery shopping, cooking dinner, washing dishes and performing some long overdue "routine" computer maintenance.

Thankfully - and luckily - I noticed the "Milk Sale" sign in the window of the bodega next door to the grocery store.  They were selling 1/2 gallons for $1.49, and gallons for $1.99!  -I think they may be in a "milk price war" with the new bodega that just opened across the street.

As for controversial films, I was allowed to see WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOLF? on its initial release.  I had already seen DOCTOR ZHIVAGO.
BUT, I was forbidden to see neither PLANET OF THE APES (!) nor ROSEMARY'S BABY.
I did sneak out with neighbors to see the former.  I caught up with the latter not long after its first run.
At the height of 70s 'porno chic" an older cousin, by ten years, and her husband and I went to a double feature of DEEP THROAT and THE DEVIL IN MISS JONES.

The graphics on Keith’s new computer game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, are awesome!!  When I can hear it over the fighting, I’m enjoying the music composed by Hans Zimmer.

The plea bargain in the balloon case is a joke, if true.  Not that I wish anyone jail time, because I don't, but they just serve probation - it's the reason: to keep the loving family together.  Sorry, these people have instilled in their children the most warped sense of what family is and if that's loving and/or healthy then I don't know anything about family.  So, let's see - they'll get probation.  Fine.  How long until they sell the story to some idiot, disgusting TV producer?  And make a ton of money.  Which is why they did it.  Which is why the plea bargain should include the inability to exploit this crap in ANY manner at ANY time.  That would be a proper sentence.

I haven't heard of they have to pay restitution.  They could easily be ordered to reimburse law enforcement for the cost of searching etc

Keith thinks it might have been a boring film for a ten year old, I disagree.  I suppose the affair could have been a problem back then ;)  If would not have wanted my 10 year old to read the book.

I'm off now to work concessions for Warren Miller's Dynasty, in its first of three showings at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.  It's going to be a madhouse...in a good way!  I set my DVR to record "Fringe" and the ABC line-up, so hopefully there won't be any problem like last Thursday when NOTHING recorded.  But, at least I can watch these shows on-line if something does go wrong.

Until later!

Like MattH, I am awash in review screeners.  Three large boxes have arrived in the past two days.  MBarnum, I got three Bollywood titles.  Do you know anything about:

PARTNER
MUNNA BHAI
BHOOL BHULAIYAA

Why yes I do!

Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a haunted house film that I absolutely loved!

if MUNNA BHAI is actually Lage Raho Munna Bhai, then it is a comedy that everyone seems to love, except me. I didn't much care for it. Howver, your mileage may vary.

PARTNER is another comedy, which I saw at the theater. It was Ok, but nothing special, as far as I was concerned. But it was a hit.

Bruce I remember playing in the rain, lots of rain with puddles that went up to my knees.  Granted I was pretty young when the puddles reached my knees.

I just got off the phone & have made plans to meet a new friend tomorrow for lunch at the Indian restaurant.  I'm excited she suggested it.  I haven't eaten there as I can never get anyone to go with me.In the small world category, this new friend moved here from down the road where we lived in Michigan.  She also went to our Temple, only switching there after we had left.
