Back from a productive meeting at which I finally got the co-author to have an epiphany about the biggest problem in the show.  With one word he understood what was wrong with one of our leading characters and he knows now exactly how it has to be fixed.  It will fix so many problems once he's addressed the major problem with the character.

Congrats on the co-author's breakthrough! :D

DR EDISAURUS this is most exciting.  I first saw MIDNIGHT LACE on Frances Farmer Presents and was certain that Roddy McDowell was the culprit.

I am sure Asslee Simpson will sing the new Mercer song on her next cd, once she ends her run in CHICAGO.  And of course as soon as her sister Jessica learned that Asslee would be appearing in CHICAGO, she flew there and started looking for Broadway. (courtesy Joel McHale and THE SOUP).

As long as she stays clear of FINIAN's RAINBOW!

Someone has put together a 50th Annivewrsary tribute to Mary Martin and THE SOUND OF MUSIC using a tape from a live performance. I love the shot of her and the Captain (Theodore Bikel) with Marian Marlowe in the red dress watching from above.

Very cool, DR Edisaurus!    :D      Thanks for filling us in on the festivities.    My DVR is recording the documentary at this very moment!

Hence the weird, coughing up a hairball noises it's making.  ;)

Who is producing CHICAGO and exactly how desperate are they to keep it going at this point?  My guess - from DR JOSE's clip (from London last year) - is that she still DOESN'T know the lyrics.

The Weislers don't care;I think they'll put anyone - talented or not - into a show if they think it will bring in an audience. FORBIDDEN BROADWAY used to make fun of their casting.

Oh!  I think I was supposed to see that tonight (too).  Hmmm... -I still think that Encores runs Friday-Sunday, so I keep thinking that the invited final dress rehearsals are still on Thursday nights.  Guess, I'll splurge on the $25 tickets this weekend. Or not.

Az for where I waz...

I took the train down to Union Square where I scouted out today's offerings at the Greenmarket.  I didn't buy anything today, but I probably will on Friday.  After perusing the produce, I met up with a friend, and we wandered around for a couple of hours.  It was a perfect Fall afternoon for wandering in the City of New York.

And now I'm back at my apartment waiting for some sweet potatoes to finish roasting in the oven. Smells good already!

Yep, as DR elmore already noted, Chicago is a cash-cow for The Weisslers.  The term "stunt-casting" was basically invented for and by them.  -And they're proud of it.  Frankly, I do have to give them some credit for being able to keep the revival of Chicago open and running for as long as it has. Of course, since it's basically the original Encores presentation moved into a Broadway theatre, charging Broadway ticket prices, and since there's no real set, and no major costume budget, well.. Ka-Ching$

Ah, well...

The e-birds and the e-bees:

How was I born?

A little boy goes to his father and asks 'Daddy, how was I born?'

The father answers, 'Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway!  Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo.  Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe.  We sneaked into a secluded room, and googled each other.  There your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive.  As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said:

YOU GOT MALE!
