I dunno know, Sir.

*Which brings up the whole "Is it a "hard" or "soft "g" - "gilly" v. "jilly"?".  -Both have been sung and recorded.

The e-birds and the e-bees:

How was I born?

A little boy goes to his father and asks 'Daddy, how was I born?'

The father answers, 'Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway!  Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo.  Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe.  We sneaked into a secluded room, and googled each other.  There your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive.  As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said:

YOU GOT MALE!

Which reminds me of this classic from my childhood:

-I really hope this isn't too risqué for this site.  ???

It was another PayDay and I was tired of Mr. Goodbar.  Then, I saw Miss Hershey throwing me Kisses on the corner of Clark and 5th Avenue.  In no time I pulled out my Whoppers and began feeling her Mounds with my Butterfinger.  “Hey, how’d you like to Crunch on my Tootsie Rolls?”, I asked.  Well, she did and it felt like pure Almond Joy.  Then, I let her have my Choco Taco.  She let out little Snickers and moaned,” Oh Henry it feels Good & Plenty.  Even better than the 3Musketeers.  Oh, those beautiful Sugar Babies!”  She asked if I was into M&Ms.  I said, “Why don’t you take my Whatchamacallit and slip it in your Bit-O-Honey and feel my MilkyWay?”  Hey, I know men are from Mars and women are from Venus, but soon she began to get a little bit Chunky and nine months later out came Baby Ruth.

The menu is out for our next Beer Dinner:
...

DR DER BRUCER - Just how big are the "pours" of beer that they serve with each course.  That's a lot "liquid" real estate so to speak.

*As for the dessert: I would have opted for a Young's Double Chocolate Stout.  -And just the stout for dessert. :)

Good evening.  Interesting day. I was trying to get a brief done...in that do not disturb mode... when the building manager, maintenance guy and the guys working on the new space kept coming in and asking questions, having me go look etc.

They are suddenly obsessed with me finding the person to put in the phone wire.  For some reason this has become some sort of "has to be done this minute" thing.  Then there's my computer guy who will do the network wiring.  He was going to do my phone wiring, but he says it's premature to do anything because the ceiling in one room hasn't been installed.  I locked the door and did my brief, lol.

It's really quite silly.   I've been telling them I'll do whatever arrangements they need for the past two weeks and they weren't in any hurry.  I found out that they suddenly have 2 other spaces that they need to build out and have ready shortly after mine.  So I've been put on the front burner on high LOL.

It's a good thing, but still.... I'll deal with them tomorrow

Seriously, due to the growing conditions in the Northeast - or the lack thereof - over the summer, some other crops are also running low this season.  Sadly, the farmers are the ones hit hardest by all of this.

Thanks for the vibes, buy I finished it 2 minutes before my only appointment today showed up.  I got it electronically filed by 4:30 PM so it's a low stress evening.  PLUS tomorrow I was going to go to Des Moines to a seminar, but I don't need the hours and I can really use and unscheduled day at the office so I'm not going.  This means a VERY low stress evening.

DR Daw, there will be photos...I actually may take some tomorrow of the "In progress".  It's really a huge transformation taking place. I've never had this for a new office space...where they are customizing it for me. It's very exciting

I have a busy day tomorrow. It's my last presentation before I go on vacation and it's "off campus" We have to go to the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation for the same presentation we have been doing since April. I think we have done 12 to 14 of these. We are a well oiled machine by this time but you never know what questions will be thrown at you and since it's not in our space we have to arrive early to set up on their equipment. I have to put my PowerPoint presentation on the computer (thankfully it's only 4 slides, we realized that explaining 3 grants was sleep-inducing and we have cut back to one) and the others must bookmark their material on our Web site. We have to be there by 9:30 for the 10am presentation but the nice thing is We Get Lunch! I won't be back to the office until probably 1:30 or 2pm depending on how long lunch goes. I'm looking forward to it.

All this work does mean that I won't completely finish one or two small projects before I leave but they are not high priority so I can go on "volunteer/vacation" with a clear conscience.

And now, a pitch to those New Yorkers on the board (lurkers too) who might have some free time between Friday, December 4th (at about 9:30am) through Friday, December 18th.

As many of you on this board know, I spend the first two weeks of December helping at a project to make gift bags for men, women and children living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. It's called the

Stephen J. Falat Holiday Basket Project

I have been a part of it for 11 years (if I recall correctly) and it's a very important part of my Holiday Season. We need volunteers to help out. If any of you in New York (or the surrounding area) have free time and would like to help out we would love to have you. We operate out of the 2nd Floor of the Actors Equity Building in the Audition Lounge.

The day we need the most volunteers is Friday, December 4th. That's the day all the supplies and donations and other purchased gifts arrive. We have to load all the goods from trucks on 46th Street into the freight elevator and into the Audition Lounge. If you want to volunteer on that day you need to be able to lift and carry and run around.

If you can't make it on that day but would like to help out other days we need people to fill the bags, cut and curl ribbon (we do about 3,000 bags and each one is tied with curled, colored ribbon), fill sandwich bags with candy, fold clothing and other tasks. You don't need to be able to lift and carry and run around to help on days after December 4th. We have sitting jobs for those who are not physically able to do much work.

We also have a separate room where bags for children are assembled. That is coordinated by a New Jersey branch of the Barry Manilow Fan Club, 3 wonderful women who love Barry and also love to help out at the holidays.

If you are interested in helping and you're registered on the board you can send me a private message to let me know.

If you lurk but are interested in helping you can just come to the 2nd floor of the Actor's Equity Building at 165 West 46th St. between Broadway and Sixth Avenue any day Monday through Friday from 10-4pm December 7 through approximately December 18. We don't always go the full two weeks, it depends on how many bags we are doing and how many volunteers we have.

You don't have to be a member of Equity to help, just come to the second floor Audition Center and tell the person at the desk that you have come to help on the Basket Project. Even if you only have a half hour to help it's greatly appreciated. I'll be there every day so you'll get to spend time with me (what a treat!).

If you can't help out but want to make a donation of goods or money (it's tax deductible and we can give you an EIN for tax purposes) either send me a private message and I'll tell you who to contact or drop by for even a few minutes and I'll tell you what to do to make a donation.

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give. I hope to see some of you this year.

I forgot to mention something. If you can't help out during the week, they do need people on both Saturdays for deliveries. The bags are filled Monday through Friday and Saturday morning they need people (it's usually early around 8am) to help deliver the bags. If you have a car and can drive that would be wonderful!

Again, if you're interested, let me know and I can let you know who to contact for weekend duty.

Went back to work today, a few days early. But I think I stayed too long at the fair. By the time I got home I was in a lot pain. Took a pain killer and it knocked me out.

I think tomorrow will be a shorter day.

Well, I'm done with work.  I normally would go home, but there's a board meeting and there's some union talk going on, so us new union members (we affiliated a couple of months ago) have been asked to show up and be a presence.  So, I'll be a presence...but I'm not speaking.  I don't know how long the meeting will last, but then, I'll go home.

Until later!
