My dad swore like a sailor (which of course he had been), but for some reason I never really took noticed of it as a kid, and it never really rubbed off on me.

I can recall being shocked as a little tike when my friend Theresa would say "my god," when I felt it was not proper, and I was always trying to get her to say "my gosh" instead.

Even now I am much more likely to say "my gosh," "shoot," "darn it," "son of a gun" or the even the more shocking "gosh dang it." But now and then I do let the F-bomb out accidently, or even worse, "sh*t, which is a word I detest, but sometimes it just happens.

I do not think I have ever uttered the "C" word. It is far too unseemly. And I would never use a curse word to cut someone down. It just seems so wrong to me.

I have uttered the "f" word twice in front of the kids, much to their eternal delight.  Both times were in the car when (sorry, sexist rant coming) stupid women drivers have almost hit me because they are gabbing on their cellphones and of course none of the other cars (with right of way) matter to them.  One time I literally had to swerve off the road to avoid being hit.  The woman just continued merrily on her way wondering why I was honking at her.

As for curse words in new movies, that really does bother me at times. I think it is used far too much and is mostly unnecessary, as far as I am concerned.

I am shocked at the use of the F word by kids now-a-days. Just last week when my mom and I went for Chinese food, the booth behind us was occupied by two attractive, fairly clean-cut girls, and I was suprised at the foul language they were using, and quite regularly.

I do recall the first time I heard my father utter the forbidden "F word".

It really shocked me that he'd said it.

I awoke to the fire alarm going off in the hotel and 3 firetrucks outside my window. Turned out to be a false alarm.
I looked at my hotel bill and they have charged me for 11 drinks from the minibar. I only opened it once to put in my leftover yogurt. Grrrr...this is a fancy hotel and I would normally never stay in one this expensive, much less raid the minibar! Hope they believe me...

Hotels seem to be notorious for charging for the minibar, used or not.  There should not be any trouble getting it removed from your bill.  Their problem will figuring out which room should have been charged.  I suggest hanging onto the corrected bill for a week, just to make sure you aren't charged again.

I was able to get my H1N1 shot no problem (i went with my niece).

Interestingly we went to a place not in our area. And there was nobody there. We got there at 10:15am and they handed us a coupon for 10am. And we walked right in. They took us faster than we could fill out our forms.

So far my arm is feeling fine.

Good news all around.

Good morning, everyone.

My car is in the shop today for an overdue service, so I am stuck at home, as there is little within walking distance. A opportunity to catch up on laundry.

TOD:
The use of curse words to let off steam doesn't usually bother me. But more and more I dislike these words being directed against someone. And, yes, I hear FAR too much of certain words.

Getting to be a curmudgeon, I guess ;)

Of course, the downside to last night's theater outing with my family was having to miss GLEE.  Are those episodes available online?

DR Ginny, GLEE episodes are on www.Hulu.com , though I'm not sure how quickly they get updated.

Greetings all. I am back from the DDCF. We had a very good presentation. It was well received and I think some good will come out of it.

We had lunch courtesy of

Cosi

I had a small Tuscan Pesto Chicken sandwich, a small bag of baby carrots and a diet Ginger Ale while we talked shop about grants, technology, the taxonomy and other philanthropic areas.

I now need to return to Mr. Robert Wood Johnson. I would like to finish at least this part before next Wednesday.
