I am converting a couple of radio versions of BLITHE SPIRIT to wav files so that I can make some CD's.  I may need them when I direct this show next summer.

People attending BBB are writing some pretty terrible things on BWW and ATC.

Good Afternoon!

Well... No breakfast this morning, and it looks like there will be no beefcake for me this afternoon due to some other appointments getting further delayed.  -For the beefcake, that is. ??? ::)

Oy!

I spoke to a friend who went to see BBB this past weekend.  It was his second time.  Sadly, at least according to his reports, while the ensemble seems to be getting sharper (figuratively) and better, the three adult leads seem to be getting flatter (not figuratively speaking) and duller.  :-\

As for the Topic of the Day...

I still remember the first time I said a curse word in front of my Mom - I'm not sure right now if it was "sh*t" or "f*ck".  However, I do remember my Mom's reaction to my utterance... OUCH!

Otherwise, I think I tend to favor all the basic curse and cusswords.  They can all be "strong" (or "weak").  It's all about the intention and inflection.

Many years ago when I was working as a court reporter, the witness was instructed to tell exactly what the defendant said to him. He hesitated. The judge asked what was wrong. He said he didn't want to quote the swear words, because there was a lady in the room. I turned around to see who it was.

Back from a two-mile jog.  I think I'll go have a sandwich.  I've been enjoying these earlier meals - I stay full from them for a long time, and then only have little snacks later.

DR Ginny, GLEE episodes are on www.Hulu.com , though I'm not sure how quickly they get updated.

Thanks, DR Dan(the Man)!  I also received a Tweet and a Facebook post that it's on Fox.com.  If I have time after I finish the book my group is discussing tonight, I'll try to watch it.

Of course, the downside to last night's theater outing with my family was having to miss GLEE.  Are those episodes available online?

The entire first 13-epiodes of the season will be coming out on DVD in December.

Before I left for lunch, I had time to watch MODERN FAMILY from last night. Another hilarious episode. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the plotlines.

Back from a sandwich and onion rings.  I ran into Jim McCloskey and his friend - Jim was for many years the chairman of the LACC Theater department.  He's now in his mid-80s and still sharp as a tack.  They sat with me while I ate and we had a really nice chat.

I also watched the first half hour or so of THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH on TCM-HD. It looked fabulous; the Technicolor had perfect registration, and sharpness and depth of color was stupendous. I don't like the movie much at all, but I certainly enjoyed watching those supremely colorful images. The costumes for the circus folk were just dazzling.

When I got in from lunch, I want ahead and watched SANTA BUDDIES on Blu-ray. It might have been a tad more entertaining than SPACE BUDDIES from last spring, but only because I'm a sucker for Christmas cheer and trees and the spirit of giving. Chistopher Lloyd played the town dog catcher who was super mean but who learns from the Buddies (and a couple of Santa's own pooches) the meaning of Christmas.

A couple of pretty new songs graced the show: "Christmas Miracle" and "This Is Christmas."

I was right about the bonus features: three sing-along songs (one minute each) and a 2 1/2 minute music video of "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town," and that was ALL! Really surprised Disney didn't put on a bit more value for the money on this set, a game or two for kids or the family to play together.
