I then started VERTIGO back up and continued watching. I stopped when Scottie and Elster compared notes on Madelaine and Scottie grabbed his drink and said, "I NEED this!"

Best friend John has hit some button on his receiver and now no longer has surround sound from his cable box, so I'll be heading over there at some point tonight to troubleshoot that for him. So, I won't have a complete evening of leisure viewing as I thought.

I'm still planning to take tomorrow off. Nothing review-wise has arrived in the mail today, so I only have three Criterions here, all due on December 1st.

Just wanted to remind folks that UGLY BETTY is not on tonight.

ABC is showing SHREK THE THIRD.

CBS' slate of GHOST WHISPERER, MEDIUM, and NUMB3RS are on at their regular times. LAW & ORDER is also on with a new episode.

Only 2 and a half more days of work (Monday, Tuesday and a half day Wednesday) and then I'm done for a month. No work until January 4th!

Almost everything is done. I just have small things to finish up and I actually have an entire week of no volunteering as well. We don't start until December 4th and my last day at work is November 25th. Hoo and Ray!!!

Good Afternoon!

Getting out into the sunlight for a bit was just what I needed.  What another glorious Fall Day it was here in NYC!

And while I was walking around, I ended up taking care of various emails and phone calls... All of which were the result of finding all those non-spam emails in my Gmail spam folder.  It was nice to touch base with a couple of people I haven't spoken to in a while.

bk - I meant to mention that the new print of "Sundays and Cybele" was being screened here in NYC last week.  It was a very limited engagement.

I'd love to see Cybele in 35mm again - I'm thrilled its finally having the resurgence it so deserves.

I got the review finished and posted, so that task is done, and now I'm off from work until Sunday! Yay!

Finally three days late GWTW arrived so I spent the day with the special features I hadn't seen before and got my review up.  I agree with BK it's just ever so slightly yellow at times, but I doubt very many people are going to complain.  All in all a stupendous job by Warner, IMHO.

I had the pastrami with cole slaw and Russian dressing and two latkes.  The latter are indescribably delicious.

Not only are they not complaining, it's the BEST transfer and restoration EVER.  Hate to tell them, it's not as good as The Wizard Of Oz and if they can explain to me how that one, from the same year, has perfect Technicolor hues, why this one is pushed to yellow in a much stronger way.  Maybe that's the way it was for this particular film back then, but then, using that argument, why isn't Wizard the same?  I'm going to start watching this beast today as my eyes were way too tired when I gave it a look-see earlier in the week.

Well, the soundtrack to Nine will have a digital release on December 15, and the actual CD will be released on December 22.  Here's the cover:

So...who's leg is that?  Any guesses?

Looks like Penelope's, from other pics from the film: at least, same shoe!

I guess I must have been away from the set when the photographer showed up.

I had to put flannel sheets on today, snow expected tomorrow.  I used to love flannel sheets, now I think of them as a magnet for Sherlock's fur.  Speaking of Sherlock......

Sherlock is waiting for me.  This is near the end of the walk.  He knows I'm only going a short distance before doubling back & leaving on the trail to our right.  I have a nice flat stretch there I like to jog.  We walked out from along the creek on our left.
