Well... Maybe...

Earlier this afternoon, I started to take care of some cleaning and reorganizing of my room.  And, wonder or wonders, I actually started to go through some of my "boxes-o-stuff" - some of which had not been opened in years.  I didn't go through all the boxes, but I did make set some aside to go through later.  I noticed there was one box filled only with mugs.  There were 16 mugs in that one.  And then I went ahead and decided to go through another box marked "Knick-Knacks", and, sure enough there plenty of knick-knacks* in there, along with six more mugs.

I went ahead and washed all of them and set them on my dinner table.  Most of them were from shows (see above pic), but I also had a couple from the Art Institute of Chicago, various theatres, Duke University, WETA (the PBC station in DC), Walt Disney World (from their 25th Anniversary), etc., etc...

Now here's the "catch": I hardly ever drink coffee at home.  So...

DR George - or any other DR - If you'd like a mug, well... I guess we could work some sort of deal out. ;)

*Besides the mugs in the "knick-knacks" box there were also:

-Assorted scented votive candles
-Assorted votive candle holders
-Various incense sticks and cones from L'Occitane (?)
-A couple of other scented candles
-A collection of small, Disney character plush dolls - which have magnets in their "paws" and "feet".
-Some small glass "holders" I obviously bought since they were on clearance sale somewhere.
-A set of floating candles in the shape of a hula dancer. -I believe those were leftover Opening Night favors from when I did South Pacific at Arena Stage.

In any case... I believe I'll be taking a box-o-stuff down to Housing Works this week.  -And most likely next week too.

I ALL DIBS ON THE KENNEDY CENTER SONDHEIM MUG!!

Did DR DAW take your "C"? ;)

I have a Sweeney Todd poster from the Sondheim Celebration signed by the whole cast, and I believe I managed to get Mr. Sondheim's scribble somewhere on there too.

The other posters are signed "to a degree".  I only really cared about Sweeney since that was the show I worked on full-time.  Additionally, the casts for all the shows that summer signed a TON of posters and other merchandise, and I felt bad trying to track everyone down... Unlike some people who were also involved with the Sondheim Celebration.  -Just sayin'.

I am still laughing at DR LAURA's link from yesterday - The Christmas Can Can.

I also like their version of "The 12 Days of Christmas" - which, I believe, was mentioned on this here site last year.

And they have a new Christmas album out this year: Christmas Cheers

After I had finished Stage One of "The Big Clean", I headed uptown to join my friend, Bradley, for dinner.  He's heading down to North Carolina for the holiday, but still wanted to make a turkey of his own, so he made one tonight.  Almost.

He was hoping to have his early Thanksgiving dinner done by 7:30, but since the turkey - all 14 pounds of it - did not get put in the oven until 7:00, well...

So, while the turkey cooked away in his oven, we headed on up to the Indian Road Café where we both had some very good food for dinner.  I particularly liked tonight's selection on their housemade "Pickled Vegetable Plate": watermelon rind, butternut squash, bread & buttter pickles, carrots and mustard seeds(!).

By the time we got back from dinner, the turkey was perfectly done.  So... He sent me home with some a big bag of "fresh leftovers": turkey, cornbread-sausage dressing, half a loaf of sourdough bread, and a couple of clementines.  *And it took a whole lot of restraint not to eat all the turkey on the subway ride back to my place.  Sooooo good!

And...

While we were having dinner, we were discussing our plans for Thanksgiving.  I mentioned that I wasn't sure I'd be able to make it down to Richmond due to my work schedule on Wednesday.  He mentioned that he wasn't really looking forward to the drive down to Asheville, NC... DING!  Well...

Richmond happens to be the half-way point between New York City and Asheville, NC.  So...

We're going to brave the traffic on Wednesday night.  He'll drop me off at my parents' house.  -And since my friend, Mike, is a manager at the Richmond Marriott, I was able to work out a "Friends & Family" rate for Bradley, so he'll stay in Richmond Wednesday night, and then continue his trek down to Asheville on Thanksgiving morning.  Then, he'll start the trek back north on Friday night, stay in Richmond once again, and then I'll join him for the trip back up to NYC on Saturday morning.

HOO and RAY!!
