UGH! I just shuddered - and not in the good way:

And now I need to head out to run an errand and then meet up with a friend for dinner and then head back here and pack for my trip down to Richmond tomorrow since I'll be leaving as soon as I'm done playing/working tomorrow, so...

Well, I won't say I blew it big time, but I did leave a message seething with frustration, explained why this woman was doing what she was doing and how inaccurate it was - just outlined everything.  The head guy then called me, asked me a couple of questions and I laid it out again for him how preposterous what this woman was saying was, and he said he'd call me right back.  He didn't, but about five minutes later I had an e-mail saying: This is approved.  Hoo and ray!  This woman has been causing everyone from every label the same kind of grief for so long (I gather others have had it even worse) that the labels, apparently, are banding together to try and prevent this from ever happening again, because the head guy most certainly wants to find a way to make this less of a headache for his people and for us.

Have the Weisslers signed on as co-producers ::)

I wasn't sure we needed another revival so soon after the Daniel Davis production. Now I'm sure we don't.

We do not need another revival. This is simply preposterous. Now watch: it will be a huge hit.

BK, I thought the problem woman worked for the label.  If not, for whom does she work?

I think we need a trivia contest in order to reveal the Holy Grail.

Hello, everyone.

It was a glorious day here. Chilly at night--low 50's--but it warmed up to the 70's quite early. I think MattH would love it.

I was in need of a Mental Health Day today and took it as such. But I actually got quite a bit done--lot of odds and ends--and that felt good. Now I'm doing laundry (obligatory mention).

Thank You, DR Ginny.

-I guess I was more "shocked" than anything else about yesterday's email.  It was just something I was so totally not expecting.

Your mother is pregnant?   ;D

That's what came to my mind, too.  :D

Oy! My roommate's grandchildren are here. They're cute kids, but NOT quiet.

My roommie: "I don't like the way you pee in my house." <said to her grandson>

It may be an interesting evening.

BK, I thought the problem woman worked for the label.  If not, for whom does she work?

No, she works for the studio that originally made the two films.  I will say that the head guy and the guy in charge of music clearance have been absolutely wonderful to me, and I think they know, finally, how harmful this woman has been.  I think it will be much easier from now on, and I'm hoping they clear my next requested title.

I am so breathing easier right now.  Now if I could just get these other labels to ease the hell up on their release schedules - I've told them all in no uncertain terms that if they keep going down this road they will kill it for everyone.  This week alone we had two major two CD sets announced by Intrada, FSM began taking preorders for a 15 CD box set of Rozsa music (at $180 a pop), and this Friday LaLaLand is announcing not one, not two, but THREE limited editions.  The latter is just blind, stupid gluttony and there is NO excuse for it.  I let my big online dealer know about my announcement for next week and HE informed me that there was the possibility of two more FSM "regular" titles being announced.  I went ballistic, needless to say and said that was insanity in light of the 15 CD set - he agreed to try and push the FSM announcement until after ours - I hope he sticks to it, because people don't have this kind of dough and we all suffer - things that even six months ago were selling out in a day or two are now taking weeks, sometimes months to sell out - that's what this gluttony has done.

I do think our Holy Grail title will be a must-have for any serious collector, and since a few of this week's announcements will definitely be around for a while, I'm hoping we do okay - this is the first time we'll be doing 1500 units of something.

Will it be the same price?

Yes, our usual 19.98 price but incredible value for money - two complete scores on one CD, around seventy-eight minutes.  For a long time I was going to make it two CDs for 23.98, but since I was able to get all the score cues on the CD I decided to go that route.  There was quite a bit of source music on one of the scores, but some of it wasn't by the composer and all of it added a big 0 to the music and really had nothing whatsoever to do with anything, other than they needed something coming out of a radio or TV.  That sort of completist I'm not, and I think it makes for a very weird listening experience.  The other score's source cues were also all radio related and really were disruptive because their style was so 100% different than the actual score.

I should think we'd best get to page six.  I know DAW is gone for the week, but he doesn't post THAT much every day and we've been quite low for us.

I watched a couple of older films tonight, or I should say rewatched since I had seen both before.

I began with THE EPIC THAT NEVER WAS, the story of the aborted 1937 filming of I, CLAUDIUS. Hadn't watched this in a while, and enjoyed seeing all of the clips and interviews again.

Then I watched THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH, the 1934 original which I recorded off TCM-HD last night. The film looked quite a bit better than I had ever seen it looking before, but that shootout at the end is so un-Hitchcock, and I found it sort of flat overall. Very uncharismatic leads, I think.
