The best laid plans department:

I had planned on watching ANGELS & DEMONS tonight on Blu-ray. A lengthy phone call made the starting hour too late for me to be able to be finished with it in order to see DEXTER. So, it'll be tomorrow's leisure movie.

So, instead, I watched the Alister Sim version of SCROOGE. I've seen this many times, but tonight, I got wildly emotional (really choked up) when Scrooge arrives at Fred's house and two of his friends are singing "Barbara Allen." I don't know why it affected me so profoundly this year, but it did.

I also finished that episode of SUPERNATURAL that I had started. I remembered the ending very clearly, but I still enjoyed seeing it again.

Then I watched tonight's DEXTER episode. Another corker, very gripping and some shocking scenes in next week's previews.

Since I am fresh out of review material, tomorrow looks to be a day off. Yes, I'm supposed to get the sequel to A NIGHT IN THE MUSEUM this week, but who knows if or when it will arrive? I suspect the Criterion releases for the rest of December will also arrive this week, maybe tomorrow.

Well, my evening internet surf was very brief, and now I'm ready to head downstairs and go to bed.

Good night!

The minimalist Christmas decor is up.
2 strings of multi lights for the front window.
Small Radko tree decorated with copper dipped leaves, glass pinecones, glass hearts, silver disco balls, 2009 ornament, peace sign ornament, and my Murano tree topper.
1 table with a Santa, a pinecone from outside, and a just purchased Nutcracker from Germany.
Last but not least the 3 Santa hats always go on the white ceramic tiger and leopards.

And I'm done with the holiday ambiance.

Has anyone seen THIS Broadway.com video??  It features a segment with the WSMA Brent Barrett and he talks about his upcoming show at Birdland and sings songs (in the "studio") from his brand new Christmas CD (from Kritzerland)!  His segment starts at about 8:40. :D

Here are the lovely Broadway World articles on the two-parter A LITTLE SITE MUSIC, or EVERY DAY A LITTLE NET.

http://www.broadwayworld.com/article/STAGE_TUBE_A_Little_Site_Music_Act_Two_20000101

And this from Frank Rizzo, theatre critic for the Hartford Courant:

http://blogs.courant.com/curtain/2009/11/thumbs-up-on-youtube-spoof-on.html

And this one's a blog I'd never seen before, but it's very very nice:

http://www.lemonwade.com/2009/11/25/a-little-site-music-brilliant/

As Jose may have heard if he's spoken with his friend Jim whose firm did the videos, sometimes comedy is (a) very hard; and (b) all about timing.  Jim's firm BTW got a really nice mention in the two Broadway World articles

Congrats to FJL and Company on all the accolades!

We could use some major vibage.  I alluded to some of the challenges we've been facing.  Well tonight our main drain out to the sewer starting backing up.  This could be a very expensive repair.

Finished my second movie on Blu-Ray and am done with viewing.  So, I'll just take a hot shower and listen to music and do stuff.

So... After cleaning the kitchen and doing three loads of laundry, I went ahead and headed out for a walk.  It was a gorgeous afternoon, and even though the sun was already low in the sky at 3:00(?!?!?), I managed to get a good hour and a half of daylight before I hopped on the subway for the ride back uptown.  And during the course of my three-mile walk, I was happy to see that two of my favorite restaurants had finally re-opened after some lengthy renovations. :)

Sounds like Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper are together again for New Year's Eve. Excellent!

Nice!

...And since I had purchased a "Family Pack" of ground turkey this morning at the grocery store, I went ahead an cooked a bit pot of chili, as well as some jalapeņo-cheddar cornbread.  My friends, Bradley and Jennifer, came over to help cut down on the leftovers. ;)

We are back from Lima, where Richard was duly ordained to the Anglican Province of America priesthood.  In addition to the local parishioners, we were joined today by members of my extended family and his, by friends from Middletown, by representatives from other Lima churches, by the priest from our former church in Cincinnati and his family, and by one of Richard's seminary classmates who flew in from Florida just for the occasion.  Of course, the Bishop and his wife were there from Indiana, too.  The potluck luncheon afterwards was fantastic - even my "extra crispy" pecan pie disappeared!

Congrats to DH Richard!
