New master sounds great and is approved with one small volume shift on one track.

Are pearls after Labor Day gauche?

At least they go with my red shoes.

And my magical underwear.

Thanks for the all the greetings. Glad to be here.

I'm surprised at the number of John Wayne movies I enjoy, including "True Grit" and "The Cowboys." But my favorites are:
"Stagecoach"
"She Wore a Yellow Ribbon"
"The Quiet Man"

Are there any actors out there who could take Wayne's place today? It seems as if Harrison Ford's style has kind of calcified into something as one-dimensional as Wayne could be when he was phoning it in. But Nathan Lane in "Birdcage" was a lot more entertaining, as someone else pointed out.

monday i had plans to wash my hair, instead i was at the er.  FINALLY i have had a nice shower and my hair is clean.  twice in the hospital they used a self contained hair washing shower cap.  i suppose it helped a little.

i feel so good, clean wise.  my body feels like the wreck the back of my left shoulder looks.  today was the first time i saw the bruises.  keith had warned me.  he says it looks much better today.  the front of mr arm, where the stitches are, look as if i've been beautifully embroidered.

You could get a tattoo to cover the scar and really make it look embroidered! ;)

i thought about that ;)

I always liked True Grit.  Did you know John Wayne's Birthplace is very close to the real bridges of Madison County?

I would say to Jane not to worry about typos. You just type and we'll figure it out.

I agree.  It is wonderful to see Jane again. It makes me smile

DR Jane - How is Sherlock doing? Has Keith been taking him out for his daily walks?

keith is walking sherlock right now.  sherlock has been very upset throughout this.  on the trail he kept lying down in front of me and nuzzling my head.  later he was left in the car while i was taken into a building never to return.  keith would take sherlock to the building everyday and again leave sherlock in the car, agitating sherlock more.  keith found sherlock was better if they went in keith's car instead of mine.  keith could spend more time visiting me if he could take breaks to walk sherlock.

wow, that took a lot of effort to write all those short choppy sentences-lol

None of this surprises me a bit knowing how much Sherlock loves you!

DR Jane - I remember how good that first shower after being in the hospital feels.  Do you have to keep your shoulder dry?  That would be tricky, I'd think.

dry would have been near impossible.  keith taped a clean heavy duty plastic bag over a dry clean towel.  both more than covered the self dissolving "embroidery" and the 11, at least half inch, strips of tape helping to hold the embroidery in place.  after my shower i/keith patted the shoulder dry.

nothing compared to his devotion to his daddy.  keith thought it would be easier 4 sherlock to adjust to sleeping on the floor BEFORE i returned home.  he showed his displeasure by taking the dog treats off the night table, without permission.  he seems to understand the concept of the bed now that i'm home.  he is allowed up while we watch tv and is sleeping in his own bed during the night.  i have to be careful where he is when i get up at night.

DR Jane - Keith sounds like a wonderful caregiver.

he is and i know this truly scared him.  he was so sweet.  the doctor said the surgery would be at least 3 hours.  one of the last things i said to him was a reminder not to be worried after 4 hours.  he assured me he knew, but he did't.  4 hours still frightened the heck out of him.  of course the emergency call at the wmcy monday did' help.  i heard the message relayed to get him to the phone and it was much calmer than the one he received.

For anyone who will be in NY this coming Saturday, and doesn't have plans already, there will be a one night only benefit concert of Peter Mills' musical The Taxi Cabaret, this Saturday - two performances -- 4pm and 8pm.  Tickets are only $25 and $40 and are tax deductible.  There will be 36 actors performing the piece.  I understand the rehearsals are going really well, so it should be a lot of fun.

You can find out more about it here, if you're interested:

Sherlock must be so happy that Jane is home.  He must have been so scared through Jane's whole ordeal.

Continued healing vibes to DR Jane.

Just ate some tuna pasta salad and am watching the most extraordinary DVD - the 1954 Academy Awards presentation, complete.  I got it on eBay and it's just amazing to watch this - somehow in 1954 during what I believe is the show's first broadcast on TV, they knew how to do this 1000% better than the buffoons that do it today.  The longest acceptance speech thus far has run about fourteen seconds.  The Awards that year were split between ceremonies in LA and NY and it works really well.  LA host is Bob Hope, who is brilliant, and NY host is, surprisingly, Thelma Ritter, who is also wonderful.  And the STARS.  And the GLAMOUR.  And the outfits.  It puts today's circus of a show to shame.  They just did it - and because of it there's excitement in the air.  So far my favorite thing was the appearance of the amazing Muzzy Marcellino, whistling The High and the Mighty (Johnny Desmond does the song itself).

No, I think the 1952 awards (presented in 1953) were the first televised year.
