I am reading and enjoying Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book.   Thanks, DR DtM, for recommending!    :)

Glad you are enjoying--I think it was my favorite book this year.

It Never Entered My Mind is one of my favorite Lorenz Hart lyrics.

I was going to post those same exact words, DR Jrand.  I'm especially fond of Ella Fiztgerald's rendition on the Rodgers and Hart Songbook album...

IMHO, it was just much, much too soon to revive a show like RAGTIME that was barely able to fill the house towards the end of its first run.

Finished with the phone call, so that's done.  I'm thinking about kishka and Junior's.  Long drive but maybe...

I am remiss in posting.

Oh, yes, I am remiss.

But I am not recalcitrant.  Oh! No!  I am not recalcitrant.

The same things apply today that were applicable yesterday.

There are things I must say.  Things that must be said.

But these are not things to be said here because they don't apply to anyone here.

In fact, no one here would be interested in the least.

But I am "dealing" with these things, and I am keeping my mouth shut for the nonce.

Oh yes, for once for the nonce.

I'm not sure how many fans of THE AMAZING RACE also watch BIG BROTHER.

But it looks like Jeff and Jordan (who are really a couple) are filming the next installment of TAR:

TV Tidbits:

Both episodes of MODERN FAMILY tonight (8 p.m. and 9 p.m.) are reruns tonight. So are the other ABC comedies. EASTWICK does have a new episode tonight.

I don't watch this show but THE MIDDLE is also new on ABC tonight.

Ausiello is reporting that when UGLY BETTY returns in january it will be on wednesdays at 10pm.

I don't really have a problem with it being on Wednesdays (although i've gotten used to it on fridays). But i wonder if it is a 10pm show.

The idiots who are in charge of the Lincoln Center NYPL have completely screwed up the research area; they've moved the card catalogues for the Theatre Collection to the 2nd floor, but the catalogues are not close to tables so you have to cart the drawers some distance to use them and then cart them back and take the filled-out card slips to a librarian before you can then take the completed slip via elevator to the third floor to get your request filled. The Music Collection catalogues are still on the third floor so you have to get the information there and then take your filled-out call slip to the 2nd floor to be approved before you can take it back to the third floor to be delivered to you.

Now, of you get the wrong materials, you have to leave the third floor, go back to the second and check the card catalogues again, fill out new call slips, see the librarian and return to the third floor. What asshole thinks this is remotely efficient? Why is it they get a workable system and some idiot in charge who neither uses the collection or clearly knows anything about how the system works efficiently is allowed to screw it up?

Yep! Kyle and Fish are on today.

DRJOSE - sometimes when I refresh, I get the new page and lose a post at the end of the page.....I think this is why I didn't realize you had already announced Ms Baxter's coming out.

Seems most inefficient, DR ELMORE.  Maybe they should get Henry Ford in there to improve the system.

I am really happy about this too. I think it will be very interesting to see how they do on the race. i hope she will do okay (since there is a lot of stuff she will have to do alone). I think they will do well together, and he will do well on his own. but i'm slightly worried how she will do on her challenges alone.

i'm fine now...last nite i woke keith screaming his name.  i have no idea how to explain the lite show going on.  brite flashes of kite were flashing with incredible speed.  the 2nd time it happened i managed 2 stay calm, take a deep breath and stp it.  it didn't happen again.  that was the last, and scariest straw, no more morphine for me.  i'm sticking with the 4 hour, fewer side effects, med and hoping it is enough.

Much "high drama" in the office the past couple of days.

Some amusing, some appalling.

All involving "one certain" person (who qualifies as "people", derBrucer, yes indeedy).

I'm biding my time...I have, after today, FOUR MORE WORKDAYS in 2009!

That's right!  Four (count'em FOUR).

I had really strange dreams in July when I was on the codein that Ron brought me until my doctor was persuaded to prescribe pain meds. I remember tearing the bedding apart and throwing it around the bed.
