Our early Christmas gathering this afternoon has been postponed indefinitely.  We wouldn't enjoy ourselves, worrying about the storm and the roads and getting home safely.

I don't watch TV, except on DVD because my schedule is too erratic and I don't have cable, so I can't contribute much to today's discussion. But I did catch the third season of "Dexter" and started watching "Foyle's War," which is now a new addiction. Michael Kitchen is perfect in the title role, and Honeysuckle Weeks (love the name) is a great sidekick.

Wowie! I got to the post office by taxi around 8:40, went right to a postage machine and finished by 9 am, I then walked to my pharmacy, pcked up a few prescriptions and I am home until I leave for the NYPL around 11. I may stop by the FINIAN'S RAINBOW matinee today as well before I head back home.

Good morning!

All the predictions for snow and rain were completely wrong for this morning. It's cold, but clear as can be and beautiful. Not a cloud in the sky, and my walk this morning was most invigorating.

I have a Christmas party to attend tonight, so while I expect to be home reasonably early (by 8:30, I'm hoping) and get some viewing done, looks like most of my day off will have to be enjoyed this afternoon.

Looks like another Warner Archive disc this afternoon, and it'll likely be the early Judy Garland film EVERYBODY SING.

I don't watch a lot of TV series, because I'm frequently not home in the evenings, and it gets hard to catch up and the DVR just gets used up.  But I have enjoyed The Good Wife this season, as well as some episodes of Glee.  I started watching Lost just last season, and I'm looking forward to that starting up again soon.  I tried watching a few episodes of Flash Forward this year, but that doesn't really do it for me.  Oh, and I've watched some Mad Men, too, which I really like.

The show I haven't seen at all that I think I want to check out is Dexter.  I suppose the best way is to get the season 1 DVD and start from there.

I never posted my 10 best theatrical productions of the past year because I'm sure I even saw 10 that I liked! I know I liked very much the following:
FINIAN'S RAINBOW at City Center Encores! who knew that six months later I would be involved?
LOADED: I wasn't wild about the play but I sure liked the direction and the two actors
TIME AFTER TIME: a wonderful musical by Steve Cole and Jeff Saver that deserves a long life

Saturday morning greetings!  It's snowing here in SW Ohio, but not like on the east coast.  It appears to be sticking to the grassy areas and trees, but not piling up on roadways too much.  And that's a good thing.

So far this morning I've prepared a Christmas package for Rob to take to Mary Linda's family in Michigan and one for my niece to take to her parents' house (also in Michigan, by way of Illinois).  I've also finished cleaning up the freezer - it's all connected and humming along nicely in our kitchen.
