Confection Day continues here - one batch of caramel corn is finished and packaged into 12oz. gift bags to be distributed after the Christmas Eve service in Lima.  We need to make at least 2 more batches to have enough, so that's next on the list.  I've also made shortbread cut-outs that are packed away ready for icing and a batch of gingerbread dough is chilling for cutting and baking tomorrow.  This is a new recipe, so we'll see how the guys turn out.

Time to make the doughnuts pop some more popcorn!

it all sounds delicious.  i'm very interested in how your new batch of gingerbread cookies taste.

Well, DD Zach has proven himself to be as crafty as a child.

He just walked into the room, proudly displaying one of his new Christmas toys, which I had carefully hidden away for Friday.

We were on our way out, so we didn't hang around to see anyone play in the rain.

After I popped the next batch of popcorn, Richard whisked me out of the kitchen for dinner at Skyline Chili.  When we got back, I did the syrup and the corn is now in the oven.

Glad to hear DR EDI is home!

Wow - DR MBARNUM - I am happy it is NOT the Blu Ray that is on sale at Big Lots.....I had my coat on and was half way out the door.....

I went to Blockbuster to get two PVP Blu Ray Disks for $25.....but they didn't even have one that I wanted, so I went over to the table that offered 5 DVD's for $25.  I got STALAG 17, GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES, THE LAST PICTURE SHOW, and for the last two I was scraping the bottom of the barrel and picked Keanu Reeves DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL and Ethan Hawke's HAMLET.

When I went to the counter, the young lady said - "And because you are taking advantage of our special today, you get two popcorns, 2 boxes of candy, and two drinks from the machine!"  So I got loaded up on the extras, too.  I chose 2 Milk Duds, 2 Sprites, and 2 Orville Redebacher Movie Time Popcorns.

Merry Christmas!

Finished with giving notes and am happy to report that after eleven months of trying to get something either cut and/or changed, I have been successful, and it's so much better now.  I'm nothing if not persistent in my persistence.

I would also have to make UP my number one film of the year, followed by Red Cliff parts one and two.

Mmmmmmmmmmm  smells good, DR GINNY!

I enjoyed STALAG 17 very much.....and well....Jane and Marilyn are tops in my book and the DVD Diamond transfer is very nice.  I was just reading a Bob Fosse bio that claimed that since Jack Cole choreographed Marilyn and Jane - his assistant Gwen Verdon was entirely responsible for Marilyn's sexy dancing style and that Marilyn even "stole" her breathy singing style from Gwen.

Obviously the author was under some delusion of Verdon.

And since it has been mentioned by DR ARNOLD BROCKMAN and MR BK - I will also say that RED CLIFF - the long version is most entertaining and a fine fine motion picture.....it would have been my favorite if it hadn't been slightly edged out by INGLORIOUS BASTERDS.

And of course I first learned about RED CLIFF from MR BK's writings about here at HHW.  And I am sure that is where Lurker 3D CONFUSION heard about it too.  One guest....we will see if it's the human H1N1 virus who is lurking this evening.

The travel vibes worked as far as being a safe trip; and judging from the horror stories, it certainly could have been worse! So thanks for the ~~~~VIBES~~~~!!!!! Now if I can keep from getting sick....

Welcome home, and ...

Well I made it to my parents' house.   The roads were ok most of the way, but the last part was slick. I'm glad I drove up here today.  The weather is supposed to get really crappy starting tomorrow.  One station said we'll get 3/4 inch of ice covered with a foot of snow and then the wind will blow.  I may be here longer than I planned.

Just got an email that the one of the judges has decided not to have court on Monday.  So they are rescheduling two of my cases.  That's fine, but at the same time, i wouldn't have had to get all stressed about the brief if they had decided that yesterday.   now I just have to figure out how to contact the clients when the office is closed and I'm here.
