That clip of the Hallelujah chorus where the key changes -- what was he playing and how did it happen?

Information says that the "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" number was refilmed in CinemaScope for a Fox presentation to exhibitors (along with footage from THE ROBE) - the refilmed number was used in the REMEMBERING MARILYN film released in 1963 - narrated by Rock Hudson.....wonder if it was much different?

The origin of the clip is not revealed on the website I know of....perhaps another DR knows.

I've been watching reruns of  BONES on TNT and I am amazed that I never watched this wonderful series on primetime. I like the cast and the mysteries.

On a bad note, my doctor called me; I've been taking  a lot of blood tests because "something" - I'm not sure what it is - keeps turning up in my blood tests. She thought it was a byproduct of the Vitorin I had been put on by my last idiot doctor and it was the Vitorin, she thought, was causing my shoulder and leg aches and problems. Well, I'm being referred to a rheumatoid specialist and i have no idea what this portends.

Maybe the cause can be discovered once and for all, Elmore. Then proper treatment can begin.

My darling, elmore, since they have already figured out that you don't have a heart or a brain; they have got to explore other areas.  At least they didn't suggest a proctologist!

Well I made it to my parents' house.   The roads were ok most of the way, but the last part was slick. I'm glad I drove up here today.  The weather is supposed to get really crappy starting tomorrow.  One station said we'll get 3/4 inch of ice covered with a foot of snow and then the wind will blow.  I may be here longer than I planned.

thanks for letting us know you arrived safely.  what happens if you can't get back for a court date?

Well, now they are rescheduling the two that are the most serious on Monday - The snow is supposed to be done Friday afternoon or Saturday.  We should be out by Saturday or Sunday.

Topic of the Day.  I'm think that these are the only movies from 2009 that I've seen (and I enjoyed them all):

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
I Love You, Man
Julie & Julia
Milk
Star Trek
Zombieland

Thanks all for the good wishes.  I will relax, it just takes a little while to unwind. I didn't realize how wound up I really was until I got here. All will be well.

Is that better than an ailing aspidistra?

Wow!  Marilyn Monroe had IT!  And FOX knew what to do with IT!  What a fun show!  And just beautiful to look at - in a garish Technicolor sort of way.

DR MATTH - I think you are correct, physically Mitzi Gaynor was a better Nellie than Doris might have been.  I have no argument with Mitzi....she did a fine job.  And her singing was just fine.

It's a shame he couldn't sing the notes that Cole Porter wrote instead of that Star Search "cool" noodling that covers up the fact he doesn't have a real voice.  That's my curmudgeony blurb for the day.

Well, Matt Zarley didn't knock my socks off with his tortured rendition of "Love for Sale." I don't think he'd make a very good whore.
