And for any DR who may be flying this weekend - and most likely, over the next couple of weeks...

I've heard from a couple from a couple of friends and acquaintances this morning via phone calls, texts and Twitter, that the TSA has ramped up the screening requirements after last night's terror attempt:

-NO liquids in any amount in your carry-on.
-NO electronics allowed "on" during the flight at all.

And it seems they've also re-instated the "No getting out of your seat during the first and last hour of the flight" rule (which took effect right after 9/11) as well.

lol-beets take over everything they touch, and i also have a tremendous dislike for them. while out for dinner one night the hostess served a salad with fresh beets and to my great surprise they were ok.

I also abhor beets. My father on the other hand was a huge fan of Borscht, and in fact was eating a bowl of it at a restaurant when I had the temerity to inquire about our Jewish heritage. As some of you know, it was verboten to mention this background around my father, who absolutely did not want to discuss it. So Borscht is forever linked in my mind to being Jewish, which is probably as it should be.

Well...

I purposely did not buy that many CDs - or DVDs for that matter - this year as part of my "I Have Way Too Much Stuff Campaign". I either finally listened to some CDs that I bought but never listened to; sold some (well, a LOT) of CDs to Academy; or gave away some CDs to people I knew would appreciate them and listen to them more than once every six to seven years. However... Of the top of my head...

I like beets.

*DR Jane - Fresh beets are truly a different "taste sensation" than pickled beets. Thinly sliced fresh beets are a nice addition to salads, great color and crunch. Have you ever had roasted beets? -I've found some people who do not like beets, actually do not like "pickled beets" - it's the vinegar that can overpower everything else.

great! now that means the bag has to be checked for a ridiculous fee. what if you have to go to the bathroom during those hours?

i've not had roasted beets. i would be willing to try them. i'm not usually a fan of picked anything. i will eat the picked corn in floop if i have to, at least it doesn't change the taste of everything it comes in contact with.

I'm up, have left a message for the composer who's signing the booklets and hope to hear from him soon, although he's been pretty slow about getting back to me - he always does, but never in what I'd call a timely manner. If it doesn't happen today then it has to happen on Monday.

If there was plenty left on the bones to make stock. goose stock doesn't appeal to me.
