Well, you've read the notes, the notes breezed, and now it is time for you to post until the breezin' cows come home.

Good morning, all! I just put the laundry into the washers. I have a bit of work here today along with a matinee of FINIAN'S RAINBOW; today Joshie makes his Broadway conducting debut and I will be there to cheer him. It will be fun to see the show again and to wish everyone a very happy New Year.

In about another 30 minutes I will mop the bathroom and tidy the apartment. The neighbor above me kept his partying with guests no later than some time around 12:30 am last night, but I don't want to disturb the neighbor below me by doing any noisy housework before 9 am.

I did find a biography about Victoria and Albert on Amazon.com and ordered it; I want to see the film again. I may see UP IN THE AIR on New Year's Day, and I want to see the new Disney film this week as well.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday Wishes to Our DR Dakotacelt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy birthday, DR Dakota Celt. And thanks for the mention of doing laundry, DR Elmore. Have some of that to tend to. And a few bills to pay and all that end-of-the-year stuff I'd just rather put off.
Have a great day, all.

I watched the first hour of the Kennedy Center honors last night. I really enjoyed the musical numbers for Mel Brooks.

DR Jose I just clicked on your list of words that people spell incorrectly. For some reason i thought it would be difficult words, and not just the basics.  But still interesting.

Good morning!

It felt warmer this morning than yesterday morning, and my walk was fun. It's overcast, however, because we're expecting rain tonight. Deep freeze temperatures arrive on Friday or Saturday.

So far, no UPS deliveries this morning, so it appears I may be having another day off. If that's so, I'll watch on of my CHristmas Blu-ray gifts this afternoon and maybe some Warner Archive discs tonight. Certainly there's nothing but reruns on TV, so nothing there of interest.

Re: INGLORIUS BASTERDS

I really liked the film, too.

Any movie that has Jews killing Nazis has got to be good.

Loved "the Bear" and his baseball bat.

Wednesday morning greetings!  It's cold and gloomy here today and I slept until almost 9am (very late for me).

Well, I have a different reaction to the two KILL BILL films. I admire them both, but they're SO different from each other, and I really preferred the less frenetic pace and depth of feel of the second one. When I want to watch KILL BILL, I always go for part II first.

I'm not a Tarantino groupie. I haven't seen everything he's done (have never watched RESERVOIR DOGS, for instance), and I was repelled by PULP FICTION when I first saw it. (I suspect it wouldn't be so shocking to me now having seen much of his oeuvre.)

But INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS impressed me from the get-go, and for me it's his best movie by far.

I checked the timing for CHE, DR Jose. Each film runs 129 minutes making a total of 4 hours, 18 minutes, so I guess it ISN'T close to five hours after all.

I have no idea when these Fox discs will arrive that I'm expecting, but provided that I get them done by the weekend, I'll be spending next week with these Criterion releases. I'm really looking forward to seeing PARIS TEXAS again after all these years.

As for MISSION IMPOSSIBLE II, unquestionably the worst of the three movies. I still think the first one is the best one.
