Kerry, yesterday I was at Pebble Beach, on the Bush Highway very east of Mesa. Plus Saguaro Lake, and then down through Fountain Hills.

TOD:

Aside from my own Hollywood memoirs, which I completed late last year, there are several non-fiction stories that I would not mind writing.

The problem is that the people who can give you first hand information on these subjects are no longer around, and I really hate doing a non-fiction book where all of your research comes from previously published material.

So, the only alternative is to do a "novel based on fact," which I might tackle one of these days.

In the meantime, I'm planning to turn one of my unsold screenplays into a novel.  It's of the horror/sci-fi genre, and I've completed over 40 pages.

And, no, Jack, there is no 50 foot woman in it.

Just finished watching the clip of the first million dollar winner on Antiques Roadshow.  I love it when good things happen to nice people!        :D

What's the Sue Ann Nivens line - it was something like "I woke up in the middle of the night with a great idea, so i went right home and wrote it down"  (That was actually a racy line for the 1970s, even for the sophisticated Mary tyler Moore Show)

And as DR edisaurus mentioned, I shall be meeting here in a little while for some breakfast and as well as some window-looking.  -I hope the Christmas windows are still up at Bergdorf-Goodman at least.

If any other DRs happen to around and about on 5th Ave later this morning and early this afternoon, please feel to drop by. I'll have my iPhone on me, so I can check for PMs and emails along the way.

And as for hot chocolate... Well.. If we do end up in Chelsea, we might as well go to City Bakery for their justifiably city- - if not world-famous hot chocolate - with the homemade marshmallow on top, of course!

Tuesday morning greetings!  We have snow on the ground here in SW Ohio, but unfortunately not enough to justify staying home from the 2 grantwriter meetings in Dayton today.  All in all, I'd rather be in NYC with DRs Jose and Edi.

As for the Topic of the Day...

Hmmm...

I'd like to research and write up a history of the audiences for musical theatre and opera and the other performing arts over the past 100 years.  I wouldn't want some sort of dry, sociological study, but rather a compilation of sorts of "bad" - and "good" - audience behavior.  A collection of "Yes, they really did that!" incidents.

Yes, cellphones are quite the nuisance today, but, remember, people used to bring rotten food to the theatre to throw at the stage.

And now it's time for me to head down to 7th Ave.  We'll be at Le Pain Quotidien just below Central Park if anyone happens to be in the area.  The more the merrier.

Laters...

I think I would write a book called "This Morning I Went For a Walk...."

I would need to get a new camera -- the one the big kids have -- in order to do the photos, though.

Good morning!

Yep. we're still in the depths of the deep freeze with no recovery for at least another week according to the newspaper. It was 19 this morning. This made for a very cold walk. But walk I did!

I didn't hear the UPS truck this morning (but I was deep in thought reading so I could have missed him). Anyway, if CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN 2 on Blu-ray comes, that will be today's work project. If it doesn't get here by 12:30 or so, then I'll be beginning the Criterion Collection's DVD release of CHE. This will take me all day just to see the 4 hour, 18 minute film. Two hours 18 + commentary this afternoon and two hours 18 + commentary tonight.

If DOZEN does arrive today, CHE will get pushed to tomorrow. But I want to get started on this long movie as soon as possible.

I have Saturday night's episode of CASTLE to watch while I eat lunch today, so that should be fun.

TV tonight is mostly new episodes. CBS' drama slate is all new tonight.

NBC starts a new season of THE BIGGEST LOSER at 8 p.m.

ABC burns off two episodes each of SCRUBS and BETTER OFF TED along with a new episode of THE FORGOTTEN.

Fox has college football.

Only DR Jennifer's beloved CW is still in reruns.
