It's absolutely beautiful outside - blue sky and cloudless as far as the eye can see.

Also hideously cold and uncomfortable. Taking a garbage bag out of the house and into the garage (meaning I had to be out in the cold; I have to cross my outside side porch) to get into the garage) was a very unhappy experience.

I am back from a frustrating library search today and I'll try again tomorrow.

I just had a good laugh: the actress playing Blair on ONE LIFE TO LIVE looks very silly trying to be hot while seducing one of the soap's actors.

I have never been able to stand this actress. She's not sexy and occasionally she is allowed to sing, and I find her voice only adequate at best.

I am looking forward to seeing UGLY BETTY tonight. I really hope people watch it.

Btw, has anybody seen the TNT series HAWTHORNE (with jada pinkett smith). I think it was on this summer.

It is starting here tonight and i was wondering if it was supposed to be any good.

A friend of mine really liked this show and hopes that it comes back soon.  I never watched it, so I can't say if it's good or not.

I wasn't interested in it, so I didn't watch its summer run. Its ratings were barely tolerable, but it got a renewal for a second season anyway.

The first episode of THE MENTALIST I watched was the hypnotist episode. Three hypnotists (not counting Patrick who's an expert at it) have a great workout with folks and even one member of the team. The climax on a roof is pretty ridiculous and unsatisfying. This episode, along with the one with the psychic who rattles Patrick's cage and never has to anwer to her part in a murder, were my two least favorite episodes of the first season.

I watched it anyway.

The CASTLE episode had the team investigating a call girl operation being operated out of the D.A.'s office. Fun episode with some good lines for several of the cast members.

Then I watched all of the bonus features on the CHE third disc. There were about two hours' worth of documentaries. The making of the movie and a nice documentary on the RED digital camera which was used in filming were my favorite featurettes on the disc.

Next I skimmed through both of today's soap operas. Nothing of interest for on either ATWT or OLTL though that hunky guy in the workout singlet caused me to stop and pay some attention.

I ended my afternoon with another MENTALIST episode. This was the one with the actress and her pill popping stepdaughter dealing with the death of her movie producer husband. This was one of the easier mysteries to solve.

i wonder if my shoulder is going to be weather sensitive.  i hope not.  i do have my ups and downs so maybe the fact this is the worst say i have had this year is not related to the damp day we are having.

I will say, not really vis a vis DAW but just generally, everyone really needs to think about what they post--would you say what you post to someone out loud if you were sitting next to them at a partay?  The internet, much like driving a car, gives a false sense of "protection" and a certain "anonymity," and I think it leads to a lot of misunderstandings (as well as dead pedestrians).

I am really confused. Did somebody post something that offended DAW?

No, no one did.  DAW never said this.  BK confirmed in a post last night that it was a "personal" decision.  It was not based upon anything written by anyone here.

My friend loves Michael Vartan, so he's the reason that she watches.

Back from bacon and eggs and picking up a couple of packages.  I shall now try to finish chapter one.  One of the packages was a movie I've never seen that we're thinking about doing the score for - it's on VHS so I took it to this jernt around the corner that transfers to DVD - it will be ready in a couple of hours and I'll be able to watch it this very evening.

No sign of CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN 2 today, so that's why I went ahead and finished up CHE, and I'm glad I was able to.

I guess I'll hop off-line now and finish writing up those bonus features. Then, it'll be back downstairs for an evening of leisure viewing.

No, I haven't been sitting here like so much fish, but forgot to log out when I went to join all the other Chicken Littles (Chickens Little?) at the grocery.  On the radio in the car I heard 4-6" of snow predicted and in the grocery I overheard something about 7.  At any rate, we're good to be snowbound for a few days now.

Cilla, 7 million dollars raised in in 6 weeks, WOW & CONGRATULATIONS!

Thanks Jane, it was quite an experience and quite a coming together of the community.  The day we saved the park is the last time I saw my Uncle.  He had money but was known for being pretty frugal with it.  Anyway, he came down to the park office, found me, gave me a hug and made a donation. We shared a nutty bar together and spent a little time just enjoying the positive wonderful vibe of the whole event.  It was one of the happiest days I can ever remember.  He died about 2 weeks later.

They had bricks you could have names engraved on for a certain donation. So I gave enough to have one for him and one for me. They are within a few feet of the last place I ever saw him.

It would take many many walks.

They told us at Weight Watchers last year how far you had to walk to burn off a bag of m and ms.....i don't remember exactly, but it's way too far

We are, I think, down to the homestretch (no pun intended) on our house search.  There are two we are very interested in, including one we saw today that has a killer view and lots of space.  The one today also comes with two (count 'em) HD TV's, including a big projection unit, as well as a pool table.  It does have a rather strange layout in the basement, where they have added a steamroom and tanning bed.

OH OH OH  Can we play house hunters?  You post photos and tell us about it and we guess which one you picked? :D

Maybe I watch too much HGTV

I picked my youngest son Jack up from high school Quiz Bowl practice last night. He told me that one of the questions was "What game of chance is most popular among women going to Las Vegas to gamble?" Jack buzzed in and said "Marriage". :)

OK, you can all blame Cilla for these.  These are from the MLS listing.  Front of house:

Kitchen looking off to the HUGE family room (you can't tell how big it is, but it's mammoth).  TV above fireplace included, LOL.
