I'm taking a break from band parts for a bit of dinner. I must say that though I make tuna salad regularly, this week's batch is particularly delicious. I got the lemon juice and amount of mayonnaise just right, which doesn't often happen, and it's really tasty. Now I'd love a big slice of apple pie. But I have no pie. I may have to settle for a gin and tonic.

DR JMK - That's quite a house! And a view!  -Is there enough wiggle-room and a convenient door to bring your piano in if you want to set it up in the basement?

Hmmm, I should go by our Sonic...I wonder if they are on ice skates or skiis?  Maybe snow shoes...yeah, that's the ticket!

DR edisaurus - Glad to hear that you had a relatively uneventful flight back home.  I know you're going to be very busy over the next couple of days, but be sure to stop every now and then for a break.  -Maybe have a macaron, or a sip of hot chocolate.

I have had a macaron, or two. Seems that my DH doesn't like the ones with gold dust. And of course, we wouldn't want them to get stale....

(How can you not like the gold dust???)

Can he actually taste the gold dust? Or does he just not like those flavors? ;)

As for Chocolate...

There is really no such thing as "bad chocolate".  Instead, there "chocolate you like to eat" and "chocolate your friend likes to eat".

They asked if I wanted to report it but I felt that it would be fine.

Today I wrestled a cat into a carrier with much more bloodshed...he left a big gash in my cheek and I bled all over the carrier, my clothes, the cat. (He's very strong even when he's sick!) I'm thinking about suing him. I'm sure I'll have a scar...it was still bleeding when I got home.

Ouch!

Well, facial cuts always tend to bleed more than other cuts due to all the capillaries in your face.  -Something I learned in high school.  -Which is why even small cuts to the face can look like big ones.  In any case...

Have you started coming up with a better story for when you're asked "How did you get that scar?" yet?

With or without pickles/relish?

I'm sleepy. Maybe I'll go to bed soon and get up around 5 am. I get more work accomplished in the early morning.

And speaking of Sherlock Holmes... ;)

There was a nice analysis(?) of the various filmic incarnations of Sherlock Holmes - including the current Guy Ritchie/Robert Downey Jr. version - in yesterday's New York Times:

Gin and Tonic with pickle relish? ;)

Um... No. Not really.

However, I am a fan of those Bleu-Cheese-stuffed olives with my martini(s).

DR Ginny, did you watch the Orange Bowl?

DR Cillaliz - I did watch part of it, until halftime.  I was for Iowa, of course, and was glad to see this morning that they maintained their lead and won the game.  The two meetings I attended yesterday were exhausting and I went to bed early last night and slept late this morning.

Luckily, I have no decision-making power, so they will not waste their sales pitch on me.

The new "Sonic" Drive-In has opened in Hayward. The DP and i are heading over there for dinner.  This is a BIG deal!

They show their commercials here a lot, but as far as I know, there is no Sonic in western Washington. :P

This is from some site which has a link to my Farmer article:

Engem a transzorbitális lobotómia bemutatása - pontosabban a beavatkozás kínzóeszközeinek felvonultatása - felettébb sokkolt.

Íme, egy indormatív oldal a szerencsétlen sorsú Frances-ről:

I'm sure you all feel similarly.

Precisely!

*Although, it looks like Hungarian to me. ???
