Well, SURROGATES did not appear on my doorstep today, so the plans now are to do CHE on Blu-ray tomorrow. If SURROGATES appears tomorrow morning, I'll do it instead. Once I start on CHE, I won't stop, so if SURROGATES comes at, say, 3:30 in the afternoon, it'll be held over until Thursday.

I thought I was supposed to get FAME this week, too, but there has been no trace of it or any mention that it might be on the way.

As for the whole Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien situation, well...

I just can't wait to see what the overnight ratings are for both shows tomorrow morning.

I left work early 'cause my blood sugar was all out of whack and I felt awful. I took a nice nap and have been watching some old Kane Richmond movies and episodes of NORTHWEST PASSAGE.

I still don't feel so hot, but I have been entertained.

My guess is NBC will hold O'Brien to his contract and will make him sit and wait.

If that does happen, I think Conan should just come out each night and host a party for him, his guests and his audience.  Open bar, light hors d'oeuvres, maybe some karaoke with the band.  Just party, party, party.  On NBC's dime.

Then I watched last night's CHUCK episode. There was the difference between night and day in last night's show and Sunday night's double feature. Entertaining and completely non-irritating. All the things I despised about Sunday's shows (the silly BuyMore characters, Chuck's preoccupation over his love for Sarah to the detriment of the mission) were missing and it made for a terrific episode.

The ending was a shock, but then the previews put that to right.

spoiler - - - -

If they had killed off Captain Awesome and retained those idiotic BuyMore guys in the cast, this was going to be the LAST episode of the show I ever watched. Now that Chuck has a kindred spirit who knows what he's up to, the show is IMMEASURABLY better with someone he can talk over his troubles with and explain his absences: in other words, someone who has his back on the home front. That's the BEST innovation they've added to the new season.

POSSIBLE "CHUCK" SPOILER

And if they had killed off "Captain Awesome", then that would have also probably brought an end to that Honda/Olympics series of commercials - which I really like.  -I mean, they're still thousands of miles from Vancouver. ;)

Jose - You might be right, but all i need :)  is a Twitter account so that I'd sit there watching the numbers on that!!!  I'd never get any work done.

Fred - There are no numbers to watch on Twitter.  Although, I guess you could check the click-thru stats on a bit.ly or j.mp etc. link.  In any case...

You wouldn't have to interact with anyone.  Just set it up in order for other people to Follow and then ReTweet each link to each new video.  The Twitter account for "Five Till Curtain" is basically set up like that:  http://twitter.com/5tillcurtain

I echo DR TCB's sentiments in regards to this:

I don't think world will stop turning if Leno gets the tonight show back and O'brian quits

There is show however where the world will stop turning but that won't happen until September

?

Well, actually... ???

Ah! Well, as long as you don't clean out all the Spam Followers, you could probably reach 1000 in about three days.  ;)

My hunch is that NBC wants Conan to quit, so that Jay can have THE TONIGHT SHOW back.

I loved what Conan O'Brien said in regards to the tradition of the 11:30pm time slot for "The Tonight Show" in his statement earlier today.

*I also really loved his final apology.  ;)

Ah, well...  From "Time Out: New York":

Ever since the January 17 closing of Finian’s Rainbow was announced, rumors have swirled of a possible transfer to keep the show alive. The problem, some said, was that the St. James Theatre was simply too large; in a smaller venue (with some trimming of the cast and orchestra to keep expenses down), the musical might thrive. There was even a rumor that Andrew Lloyd Webber might personally finance a transfer to the Neil Simon Theatre to hold the space until his own new musical, Love Never Dies, could move in later this year. But it is not to be: The cast, which had been holding out for a miracle, has been told that the transfer will not happen. (”Got the news,” wrote the supreme Terri White on Facebook tonight. “There was a chance of moving the show but it didn’t happen.”) So if you want to see this show, which has many passionate adherents, you have only until this Sunday after all."

Is there an echo in here??

Conan O'Brien tells NBC to stick it...politely. ;)
