When I got in from lunch, I immediately started on POST GRAD. A very contrived, predictable movie. In one of the bonuses, the producers and director talk about being drawn to the material because of its singular voice and a unique look at the time in a person's life right after he graduates. I found nothing unique or singular about the story. And the ending REALLY made me mad (girl gives up dream job to travel across the country to tell a boy she's barely given the time of day to that she loves him).

Yikes, DerBrucer! I'm glad you'll be having the surgery BEFORE a heart attack. If all this new-fangled stuff was around in the 70s, my dad would have lived to see his grandchildren.

Now, you tell Woody that he has to log in and give us updates.

I did the bonus features on the disc. All were in SD and looked very soft. (Trailers were in 1080p, of course.) None of them really had much to offer.

And I won't go into how dreadful Carol Burnett looks in HD with all that face work she's had done.

I had time to look at today's OLTL. Lots of shirtless Ford (god-like) and my two fellas were adorable even if their scenes were WAY too brief.

I skimmed through ATWT, too, but there was nothing of interest there. The previews did show a return to Lily, Damien, and Holden, but no signs of Luke anywhere.

I ended my afternoon watching another episode of BETTER OFF TED. Very funny stuff as to different creative teams go against one another for product placement.

AMERICAN IDOL ratings down a bit on the second night, but most of the competition (other than CRIMINAL MINDS) suffered opposite it with their ratings drooping. I will be curious to see how IDOL does once the auditions are over and the actual singing competition starts up.

SURROGATES on Blu-ray and THE BOYS ARE BACK (Clive Owen) on DVD arrived today. Luckily, they don't come out until the 26th so I have some time to get some other things done with earlier or similar street dates.

Now I must hop off-line and get down to writing. Then I'll return to the home theater for more leisure viewing. UGLY BETTY will be next.

Vibes to DR derBRUCER.

All DR's should be aware that texting a donation to 9099 or whatever it was actually sends $10 to the Red Cross.

You may do so if you wish, but I will find a different way to help those in Haiti than paying the administrative costs of the Red Cross - which will bill the US Government for its rescue services anyway.

A friend of mine rented a Zip Car earlier today.  The parking attendant was from Haiti.  When she went to pick up the car, he was trying to call down to Haiti to check on his family.  When she returned the car a few hours later, the parking attendant received the news that his whole family had been wiped out in the earthquake.  She made a personal contribution to him for him and his family right then and there.

Every little bit helps.

It's been a good - but very long - day.  The meetings went well, and i am pleased with all we accomplished. I'm also exhausted from all the running around and very happy to be home.

Richard and I have returned from unpacking my mother's computer, making an appointment for Brian from IT to connect it to the internet tomorrow, and moving her hanging clothes to the new apartment.  I was very relieved that it all fit into her closet with room to spare - whew!

OMG the man who played the D.A. in ANATOMY OF A MURDER who did such a mediocre job was Eve Arden's husband Brooks West.....IMDB teaches you something every day.

Of course he may have seemed mediocre because he was up against Scott and Stewart.

NOT T.O.D. (but mentioned in the notes)

I always liked the movie THE GAY DECEIVERS.  It was probably the first gay-themed movie I ever saw in a regular movie theater.  And I thought Michael Greer was wonderful.

I think that the only thriller that's been mentioned that I've seen is "The Usual Suspects." ::)

Back from all my stuff.  Had a sandwich and fries, then got the new motor car washed - it wasn't that dirty, but I decided to do it.  I don't know what they did, but it's now a little dustier than it was after two weeks of driving it.  Is it because I didn't do the hot wax?  Weird.  Still, nice and shiny.
