Happy Birthday DR Michael Shayne!!!

DR JMK, if Chopin's Revelutionary Etude was ever requested at a funeral I was playing, I would insist on playing a recording, no amount of money is worth that!  I hope it went well

DR Matthew - Pssst: Keyboard. Sequencer.

I am working on choreographing my disco routine.....and no it is not still 1979.

Burn, baby, burn...

But remember "No Parking On the Dance Floor".  However, if "If I Can't Have You" then that would be a "Tragedy".  So, "Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me?". If so, put on your "Boogie Shoes", and dance like it's the "Last Dance".  ("Knock On Wood")

Man, I tried my Just Dance wii game the other night. Talk about exhausting.  Hard to believe I used to do those dances for hours and hours.

As I think more about this, I'm reminded that in the choir loft we actually have a "Piano Disc" piano that someone donated a few years ago that is complete with floppy discs of piano music.  From the floor of the church, you can't see the piano, but you and see the person sitting at the piano - so... I'm all set   LOL

I haven't EVER watched a complete Grammy telecast.

However, the Oscar nominations are announced on Tuesday morning, and I'll be anxiously awaiting those.

Jennifer i hope you feel better after playing with your niece, not worse.  i'm also dragging today & am about to take a walk to, hopefully, perk me up.

I lay for a bit and when i woke up i had chills all over my body - a low fever of 100.2. But luckily it was pretty low. It's sort of amazing that you can get chills from only a temp of a 100.

When I went back down and get settled back into the home theater, I picked back up with BARNABY JONES and watched the remaining 1 1/2 episodes. Meg Foster was the other guest star in the episode I had only half finished.

In the last episode, Gary Owens and Peter Haskell were the guest stars.

Next I watched THE BOURNE IDENTITY. I've always loved the first film in the series, and it's one of those ovies that gets better with frequent revisits (and after you've seen the other two and understand what some of the terms and names they constantly drop really mean).

The big news for me, however, was the tremendous improvement in picture and especially sound quality on this Blu-ray. Not a hint of moire in the Blu-ray while my HD-DVD had some flickering and patterns in blinds and paneling.

The HD-DVD had only a Dolby Digital Plus audio track that did not have quite the heft I always thought it should have. The DTS-HD MA 5.1 track was a blow-out, a wonderful immersive experience that was worth every dime that I paid for this upgrade from HD-DVD. I only hope I can find some time soon to reexperience THE BOURNE SUPREMACY on Blu-ray as I suspect it, too, will be a vivid upgrade to the HD-DVD.

I watched that LOST: THE FINAL CHAPTER recap show that airs tuesday before the 2 hour premiere. It did not have any pop-ups. It was narrated by the guy who plays Ben.  It was sort of interesting, but not as good as the pop-up finale that aired last week.

It could help people who have never seen the show. They basically went through each character and described their history. And then they recapped some of the key events focusing at the end on last season's finale.

I know i can't wait for the season to start on Tuesday!

Then I watched a couple of the bonus features on the disc that focused on Robert Ludlum. They weren't in HD, but they were interesting.

I ended my evening with last night's CASTLE repeat. It was that very puzzling mystery concerning the murder of the girl in a bathtub full of motor oil.

I enjoyed seeing it again, but because the local ABC affiliate was transmitting church closings last night, the HD picture got shrunk in a box for almost the entire program. I HATE THAT.

If I get no packages tomorrow with discs that come out this week, I'll be starting on the Criterion stack I have beginning with Lola Montes. These don't come out until February 16th, so there's plenty of time to get to these three movies in both DVD and Blu-ray incarnations, but they'll all be pushed aside for the this-week releases once they arrive.

Apparently, I just nodded off for a bit while watching "The Grammys".  I missed Placido Domingo presenting the award for best Rap Album.  -He really did too.

I wonder if they're having school tomorrow? I suspect secondary roads around the country are still pretty bad but all the main road are just fine.

I really thought HAIR would win the cast album Grammy.

I think WSS won because it was released on a major label and not one of the smaller "boutique labels"

I really wish I knew they actually vote for in this category. Production? The vocals? The score if it is new?
