Lar, I hope your cold is receding

DR Ben, it is!  I am feeling much much better. Here's today's rant: on All That Chat, two posts of this ilk about last night's dress of FANNY: The City Center Sleeps 2400, from my count. This is the 50th Encores production, and in my opinion - one of the biggest snoozes and head scratcher's I've ever seen. The simplest, most earnest book - the dullest, old fashioned score and some of the most uncomfortable acting I've seen onstage in decades. This is one a misfire, to say the least. Ouch.

What a moron! He's seeing a show put up in a week, with actors dealing with costumes, being onstage, working with an orchestra and doing a lot of staging with book in hand, and he/she's complaining about "uncomfortable" acting? I thought this was one of the stronger dress rehearsals for an Encores! production and this old-fashioned criticism, which helped kill Finian's Rainbow really irks me: what does this fool think Encores! mission is? Complete ass. Doesn't he realize the crap he thinks is so magnificent will be old-fashioned in another 50 years? Some of these ATC nay-sayers are total fools.

Hello, dear vixmom! It was my pleasure. How did the MATTRESS casting go? Did the vixter get cast? Did I miss something?

Yesterday DR TCB asked re: the chicken pot pie
Quote
What kind of frozen veggies?

It didn't specify, but i just used a bag of frozen veggies that had corn, beans, peas ... i assumed that was what they meant.

Btw, it looked exactly like the picture DR Jose posted.

Oh and i forgot to mention i made mashed pototoes with it!

And I have to say it's a very interesting "version" of "American Idol"... It's kind of nice to concentrate on the positive.

The content was good. But I was not crazy about the format. Maybe it was announced that they were gonna show auditions from all cities (if they did i missed that). But i prefer when they show the auditions in a more organized manner. I'd rather see each audition city one a time vs seeing different judges and different places for each person.

I watched the first 4 episodes of the show HAWTHORNE that i had asked about here last month. I believe it ran in the US in the summer and it started here 4 episodes ago. It's with jada pinkett smith.

It's funny, but I was in a similar situation re: THE GOOD WIFE. I almost didn't watch it because I didn't think I would like Juliana Margulies (and i ended up loving her). Well i almost didn't watch HAWTHORNE because i didn't think i would like jada. But she is excellent in her role.

She plays the head nurse at a hospital. And there are so many characters that i recognize from other shows. I'm surprisingly enjoying it!

TOD:

This is probably considered part of the lyrics of "Pick-A-Little" more than diaglogue, but:

"She made brazen overtures to a man who never had a friend in this town till she came here."

DR MattH - I do have a one hour layover in CLT. I'll save you a rocking chair in the main concourse. ;)

It sounds like it would be a great plan if today wasn't both a work day and a lunch day with friends. I have picked up friends at the airport several times in the last few years, but I haven't actually been inside in a LONG, LONG time. I might not even recognize it now.

Hmmm...try as I might, I can't seem to create an interroBANG on my keyboard.  It keeps coming out as a =.

I'm sure that there was an interroBANG at the end of Patti Lupone's "WHO do you think YOU are"...

Okay, off to the barber and Toyland! I'll call Chris and see how he's coping.

I read this from last night and want you to be sure to tell him that your friends at HHW are thinking about him and wishing him the best.
