DR MattH - What's most(?) interesting about that NY Times article is that it was written by one of their Dance reviewers. Thus the snideness, I believe.

And now...

Time to run an errand, and then I might head back for a shot of the Earl Grey.

Personally, I've always felt that was a Frances Farmer at LAX dance pic.

I believe it is only ONE WEEK until our annual Oscar Bash!

Alas, due to my flight arrangements next week, I'll be up in the air during said Oscar bash.  Although, I guess I'll be home in time for the West Coast tape delay.  -Will it be tape delayed again this year?

No tape delay on the Oscars

Well, today is going to be a very, very, VERY (that's three verys) long day for me.  My house is...how shall I say this?...very cluttered. ::) And today, my mom (Rosemarie) is going to come over and help (make, actually) me clean the upstairs rooms in my house (I also took Monday off from work, just in case we need the extra time).  She came over a couple of weeks ago to help (make) me clean my downstairs and fortunately, it's still clean (my mom has been watching "Horders" :o and doesn't want me to end up like that).

I think it is very cute, & funny your mother "makes" you clean.  I think it is wonderful you seem to be happy about it. :)

Okay one more funny story since i probably won't get to post today.

My sister is reading the Jackie Collins book, "Poor Little Bitch Girl". My 4 1/2 year old niece is obsessed with book titles. So she asks my sister what her book is called. My sister tells her "Poor Little Girl".  Later that night my niece looks at the book again and asks my sister, "what did you say your book was called?"  My sister tells her "Poor Little Girl".  So my niece turns to her and says, "but then what is that "B" word ... B- I-T-C-H." :)

(yep she really spelled it out like that!). We had to leave the room we were both laughing so hard.

Don't think it's LAX, DR JMK.  The railings above and behind her match those at Television City exactly.

DR ELMORE - it was a fun show.....Ann Reinking was most enjoyable as Rose....with some special dances included for both she and Tommy....  But Tommy should never play a character pretending to be in love with a FEMALE......

And Hugo was so heavy they changed the lyric to:  "He's too smart.....she's too tall...."

I think it was taped in Texas somewhere - and I love the show....clever staging and a terrific Conrad Birdie and Mae.....fun....not gangbusters....but most enjoyable.

I then watched the 1956 Ford Jubilee production of BLITHE SPIRIT with Mr Noel Coward, Ms Claudette Colbert, and Miss Lauren Bacall.

Very cut to fit a 90 minute time period....and broadcast in color although the kinescope is b/w.  I was reading Mr Coward's letters and diaries....he thought Claudette was tiresome and wouldn't take his direction and deemed Bacall beautiful and alluring but NO comedienne.......

I slept really late, ten-thirty, and awoke to twelve e-mails from the co-author of the long musical.  The only one I felt was worth responding to was one in which he said he'd thought about two drastic suggestions I made and that they didn't work for him, but that he's willing to do some serious cutting in those two areas.  I wrote him back and said that if he was not willing to come here with an open mind on Tuesday that I was canceling the session and we'd just do the show with whatever cuts he wanted.  I reminded him that I've been asking for these drastic things for six months and every time this was his answer - well, it still doesn't work and if he cannot see that drastic measures are needed, then he will never have a show and I'll stage the reading and be done.
