Warner Archive has announced a dozen new titles for March.  Nothing spectacular, but they do include:

GREEN FIRE
MARA MARU
AT SWORD'S POINT
RAMPAGE
AN AMERICAN DREAM

etc.

TOD:

Witness for the Prosecution
The Verdict
Michael Clayton (does it qualify?)
Anatomy of a Murder

Clear skies here today, but it's still cold. Wish I could snuggle up in blankets for the rest of the day, but too much to do.

There are so many legal thrillers that I like:

PRESUMED INNOCENT
WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION
THE VERDICT
MICHAEL CLAYTON
TWELVE ANGRY MEN
SUSPECT
RUNAWAY JURY
A TIME TO KILL
TRUE BELIEVER
CLASS ACTION

...and so forth.

More from Botswana. A lilac-breasted roller. In flight, its colors really shimmer in the sun.

I loved PRESUMED INNOCENT from the time I saw it in the theater. Maybe because I guessed the identity of the murderer, I felt vindicated or something, but I found the whole thing well done.

I am also a great fan of FRANTIC, but because the DVD was full frame, I haven't watched it much.

I was going to buy that dual Blu-ray set for $17.99, but then Amazon upped the price $2, and I wasn't willing to pay it. I'll wait for a sale or markdown. Maybe it'll show up in my gold box.

DR JEANNE--Betsy uses a rice cooker/steamer all the time and loves it.  She also uses it regularly to steam veggies.  Even I know how to use it, so that should allay any fears that it's at all difficult.  ;)

I love WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION, PRESUMED INNOCENT, JAGGED EDGE, A TIME TO KILL, THE VERDICT, A FEW GOOD MEN.

I also like THE PARADINE CASE though I realize I'm in the minority about that.

Here is a story that is sure to upset some.

They are probably going to cut USPS down to five days a week.  We only have mail here monday to friday. I don't know anything different as that is what i am used to. It sucks when you are waiting for something. BUt you get used to it.

I would love one of those. My sister uses hers a lot, although only for rice. I've seen that you can make all kinds of stuff in them, like mac and cheese. It looks fun.

DR Laura, re: Kate Gosselin on DANCING WITH THE STARS.

Apparently she and Tony will be rehearsing where she lives (is it PA somewhere?). I would guess that most/all of her kids would be in school. So that would leave her free during the day.  She is going to also rehearse in her basement after they go to bed.

I guess celebrities such as Kate Gosselin don't do laundry when the children are asleep or at school.

Yes, that's an underwhelming list of "stars" for DANCING WITH THE STARS. With Evan Lysechek's participation (which I had heard rumors about), it's clear he won't be taking part in this year's world championships at the end of March. Ah well. He already can stake a claim to being a national, world, and Olympic champion. What's one more title?

I kind of feel that we have it that way now. My mailman NEVER delivers packages on Saturday.

I could see adding "Paradine Case" to my list. Lesser Hitchcock is still better than many another director's best.

Frankly, if I got my mail twice a week, I think I'd be ok with it. It's mostly junk anyway.

TOD - I'm hoping against hope that I don't have real-life experience with courtroom drama next week or the next.  I'm on call for jury duty in our county's Court of Common Pleas, which means I have to call or check online starting this Friday to find out if I have to report the following business day.  I got out of this a few years ago because my work schedule was packed for the 2 weeks they wanted me, but this time I don't have a good excuse - unless my doctor tells me tomorrow that he can get me a medical waiver.

Ask and ye shall receive dept:

I just went to Amazon, and PRESUMED INNOCENT/FRANTIC had been reduced from $19.99 to $14.99. The order has been placed (along with the new release of the plodding 1933 ALICE IN WONDERLAND on DVD; not a great film but a great cast in a weird production)!

Did anybody watch LAW & ORDER last night?

I thought it was quite good, particularly the first episode.

I have them on the DVR, but I won't get to them until much later in the week. I still enjoy the show, and I feel the cast they have in place now is one of their strongest in many years.

It's pouring this morning.  The boys have been out quickly and are now curled up on the couch.  One is behind my neck, the other near my hip.  I guess we won't be moving soon.

Tonight is the first rehearsal for Rent which everyone is looking forward to.  I'm hoping we'll be able to breeze through some of this music as it seems to be as familiar as Grease was for my generation.

I'm heading down now to see if I can't squeeze in one or two MATT HOUSTON episodes before I have to put it aside for other review chores.
