I don't how I missed hearing the UPS delivery. I must have looked out & the wrong moments when Sherlock was barking.

My new Saucony running shoes are here. I hope I'll be able to tie them. New shoes tend to be stiff & I still find it a little difficult with my old shoes, which will now be my new hiking shoes.

Thanks JRand. I'll test them tomorrow. I've been icing my shoulder & not up to it right now. I ordered them on line at a site that kept switching the color on me so I wasn't completely sure I would receive what I thought I ordered. I'm pleased to say I did & it looks better than the photo.

Our dinner tonight closely resembled the title of today's notes: pasta (spaghetti), meatsauce, no eyetalian sausage (Laura's Lean ground beef). Add on a Caesar salad and fresh baked bread = YUM, if I do say so myself!

When I went back down, I did indeed watch ROXIE HART. Ginger Rogers seems to be having the time of her life playing the part, and she's even given a little singing and dancing to do even though this isn't a musical by any stretch of the imagination. She does do an impressive tap up and down the stairs a la "Bojangles" Robinson, and you can see she's doing it live with her own tap sounds and doesn't appear to have been sweetened later with additional taps.

When that was finished (it's not a long film at all), I put in ANOTHER THIN MAN (third in the series). It's always been my favorite of the series; I think the mystery is the strongest (the original may have just as strong a mystery) even if some arbitrary cutting in the film leaves some scenes lacking continuity.

Then I watched tonight's CHUCK. Loved how they used Casey, but they MUST think of a way to get him back in the CIA. I skipped all of the Buy More scenes even though he was in many of them.

And I concluded my evening viewing with tonight's '24.' I was very disappointed that the writers fell back on a surprise revelation from season one tonight. That doesn't diminish the very real action, excitement, and tension present in the episode, but if the writers have to reuse surprises from previous seasons, perhaps it's best if the series does call it a "day" after this season is over.

Finally back - had to stop on the way home for a sandwich and onion rings. Another long day, and now instead of watching a movie, I'm going to continue my final read of the book - I've already found two massive errors, both of which require global searches and fixes - I misspelled two names - it's easy as pie to fix. Otherwise, I've just found a handful of nitpicks so far.

I did ask Vilanch to blurb and he was keen to do so. He really likes me a lot and I know he meant this to be fun and funny in his style. I may do some further editing because buried in the middle is his very sweet comments about the actual book and that's what I want to emphasize.
