I shall now be on my way to the theater to hear the sound system, then to rehearsal, then to sup, then home.

Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach water is the toilet? [/i]

We have found that by keeping a covered gallon plastic vat of water next to the toilet, Fletcher will choose that. (He is adept at lifting lids on either.) He was happy to find that his midnight kitchen cruise uncovered some brocolli stalks for his snack.

And the downspout was of course clogged, so I just got to go out in the monsoon with the ladder and unplug it.

What's the sense of feeding a teen age boy if you have to clean your own gutters?

Well, no UPS delivery, but that didn't stop the review copies from coming in. First, FedEx stopped by with PERRY MASON, Season 5, Volume 1 which I opened and decided I would work on this weekend (even though it doesn't come out until the 20th). Then, the USPS mailman brought two review DVDs from Criterion - RIDE WITH THE DEVIL on DVD (the Blu-ray came two or three days ago) and THE FUGITIVE KIND which I haven't seen in many years. That will be a fun revisit.

Next I cooked lunch when I got in from my errands and watched THE MENTALIST while I ate lunch. I like the new commander, and I like that she's not going to be giving Patrick grief all the time. That got real old when Terry Kinney was on the show (even though he wasn't the commander).

I solved the mystery pretty easily. The writers tipped their hand very early, and all the red herring suspects they threw down didn't do much to misdirect me.

Next, I began watching PERRY MASON. All the regulars are back for the fifth season (William Talman was absent for many of the 4th season episodes). There's the new opening credit sequence with this season.

I was able to get three episodes watched this afternoon.

Among the guest stars in the three episodes I watched were Denver Pyle, Parley Baer, Ben Cooper, Cheerio Meredith, the gorgeous James Drury, Constance Towers (who sang three songs during the episode), and bk favorite Leslie Parrish.

Then I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Reid was on (no Luke), but neither of them were in the previews for next week. They made sure in the previews that they featured the return of Julianne Moore in her old role returning for her parents' 25th anniversary.

I wish we'd get some rain. It's been overcast for several days now and I've just put the tomatoes and peppers out, planted some rosemary and got a few other things in the ground. So, send the rain this way.

It's raining here in Tumwater...and my umbrella is in my car...and it's time for lunch...and I need to go out. :P

Well, I guess I'll do some preliminary writing on PERRY MASON and then head back down to continue with Perry, Paul, and the gang.

Hello, everyone! I finished up my work around 11:15 this morning and got to Union Station around noon. I exchanged my ticket for one on the 1:05 train and got into New York four hours earlier than planned. I am very happy.

While at the LoC, I heard lots of dish about the proceedings of LIFE BEGINS AT 8:40, including further stories about the librarian in charge of the project who certainly exaggerated her claim on who did what, how much the director and musical director - the one whose firing I pushed until I decided to resign - were loathed for arrogance and, as I predicted about the MD, not being prepared. Well, what do you expect when your musical director hasn't looked at his orchestra scores between September 1 and the middle of March? I saw a copy of the program; hated what they wrote about me and would have preferred to be omitted. Everyone loved the cast.

The dish was good. The research was great. I am back. I am happy.

Good morning!

It nearly got up to 90 yesterday and today and tomorrow will be the same. 90 in early April? What does this mean for this summer? Yikes!

I didn't check yet what the high here was today. But it was very hot. It must have been close to 80.  I went for a bike ride when i got home at 6pm. And it was still so amazing out. I was wearing a sleeveless tanktop. I love this weather!  Although it was a bit hot this afternoon. I didn't realize it would be so sunny and i had to chase my niece around the block like 10 times while she rode her bike.

I haven't decided if i like the new commander yet. She might be acting nice towards Jane. But she is sort of mean towards Lisbon (who i really like). I guess we'll have to see the dynamics in the weeks to come.

LOL-I remember chasing children around the block while they rode their bikes.  I couldn't do it today.

Dixie and I had an evening walk.
I had Mum to the cute, young podiatrist's office this morning.

TOD:

Last night's FLASHFORWARD proved interesting, but, someone is turning into a whining, unlikeable character; I hope this trend does not continue.

BLU-RAY:
THE LAST WALTZ - the sound is awesome, the picture, which was never a great looking piece of film, looks very good.
AN AMERICAN IN PARIS - I do like this film, with the exception two back to back musical numbers which, in my humble opinion, add nothing to the plot.
LOST: SEASON 4 - the year of 'the freighter people.'

sorry, DR Elmore, about the neighbor spoiling the mood again.

And thanks, DR Jane, for the rain vibes, but the sky has cleared and the sun is actually welcome after all that Scandanavian gray.
